Payroll System

Introduction
A payroll system involves everything that has to do with the payment of employees and
the filing of employment taxes. This includes keeping track of hours, calculating wages,
withholding taxes and other deductions, printing and delivering checks and paying employment
taxes to the government.
The existing payroll nowadays were processed through manual where the employer or
administrator manually calculate the number of hours and number of days present of an
employee. The deductions of their wages are also calculated manually by the employer.
The other existing payroll system is in a form of a software. It adjust the worked hours of
the employee. This also count the overtime of the employee. You’ll just press the button and the
total rate of wages will be shown, it also show pay history. This software can be applied to small
businesses.
However, the problem is on manual type of a system of payroll. It can’t be negate that
there will be error on manual counting of rate per month. This process will take a large amount
of time and may cause delay on allocating wages of the employees. This will also may be a lot of
work for the number of hours will be counted, recorded manually by time card.
On the other hand, another process of generating payroll on software can make the work
easier. It can also record and view the rate of the employee. The administrator will be the one to
encode the number of hours in order for the system to compute and record the details.
The researchers create a payroll system that compute the monthly rate of an employee
based on the hours of duty.

General Objectives:
This research study aims develop Employee Payroll System using Database
Systems.
Specifically this study aims to:
1. Register employee
2. Manage employee’s record
3. Generate payslip
Project Description
The purpose of the Employee Payroll System is to compute the total monthly rate of the
user (employee, administrator). The salary will be computed based on the hourly rate. The
system will provide the total salary being computed by the end of the month.
The administrator will be the one to register the employee. After registration, the user
will just Log-in/Log-out every day in order for the system to count the number of hours and
compute it’s rate at the end of the month.
The user can view his/her information and rate but cannot edit the said information. The
admin is the one responsible for editing the information. Admin can also save, delete and update
the said information if there is changes. The system will detect whether the user is an admin or
user through Log-in during the registration and proceed to the designated page.

Scope and Limitation

This study focused on the system that Add, Edit, Delete, Save, Update and Compute the
Payroll Rate of an Employee. The user will choose whether he is a regular employee or not
enable for him to be directed on the right page. In order form him to view his rate and
information, the user will first input his number of hours and days.
If an employee has no record yet, this is the time that we’ll be using the Add button.
There the Admin will add a blank database and the information will be entered here. The
Administrator can also delete, edit, save and update the information.
The Administrator has only have the authority to update the information and the regular
employee can view only and input his number of hours and days of on the system.
On the Payroll rate, the system will compute and total the number of hours and days base
on the inputted data of a certain user. The employee will log-in and log-out every day in order to
monitor their hours and date to be computed at the end of the month.
