2. Since 15 pieces moist chocolate cupcakes calls for 1 cup of sugar, then for 30 pcs, she will
2
1
need 2 x 1 = 3 cups of sugar for moist chocolate cupcakes. To make 45 cheese cakes,
2
1 1
multiply 3 and because 15 x 3 = 45. Thus, 3 x = 1 cup of sugar cheese cupcakes.
3 3
Therefore, she will need a total of 3 + 1 = 4 cups.

3. Let n be the common factor, then 2n + 5n = 35. So, 7n = 35 or n = 5. Then there are 2(5) = 10
boys in the class.

4. Since he sold a total of P56,450 worth of product and he have a commission of P1,000 for his
first P10,000 and 15% 0f P56,450 – P10,000 is P6,967.50, he will have a gross pay of P1,000
+ P6,967.50 = P7,967.50

5. One kg cost P300 x 5kg = P1,500

1
6. Given that of P2,019 = P673. Then , P2019 – P1,346 was left after she bought the
3
shoulder bag. Half of P1,346 is 673, which she spent for school supplies. Then P673 – P99 –
P18 = P556 was left.

8. There are 9 flowering plants which is 15% of the total number of plants. Then, 10% is 6 so,
10 x 6 = 60 growing plants in all

4 2
9. 0.15 + 0.65 = 0.8 and 0.8 ÷ 2 = 0.4 = =
10 5

10. Use 5 divided by 2 = 2.5 as the common factor. Then she use 1 x 2.5 = 2.5 cups of sugar and
3 x 2.5 = 7.5 cups of water.

11. The sum of the height of 4 teenagers was 4 x 1.55 meter = 6.2 meters. When another teenager
joins, the sum is 5 x 1.5 meter = 7.5 meters. The height of the 5th teenager is7.5 m – 6.2 m =
1.3 meter

12. When a 20% discount was deducted, P1,560 is 80% of the original price. Divide P1,560 by 4
to get how much the discount, because 80% ÷ 4 = 20%. Therefore, (P1,560 ÷ 4) + (P1,560 =
P1950 was the original price.
