CHALLENGE!

1. 524,160 = 27 x 3² x 5 x7

Thirteen is its largest divisor which is a prime number. And by closely looking at the factors,
the five consecutive integers are: 12, 13, 14, 15 & 16

2. Following the MDAS rule and putting grouping symbols will result in(219 x 673) + (219 x
327) + (781 x 673) + (781 x 327).

Using the associative property for addition, it will become: [(219 x 673) + (219 x 327) [ +
[(781 x 673) + (781 x 327).

Undoing the distributive property will result in: 219 x (672 + 327) + 781 x (673 + 327) = 219
x 1000 + 781 x 1000 = 1000 x (219 + 781) = 1000 x 1000 = 1,000,000 = 1x 𝟏𝟎𝟔
𝑛(𝑎1+ 𝑎
𝑆𝑢𝑚 𝑛) (𝑞1 + 𝑎𝑛 )
3. Average = 𝑛𝑜.𝑜𝑓 𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑚𝑠 = =
2𝑛 2

Where n is the number of terms, 𝑎1 is the term with the least value and 𝑎𝑛 is the term with
the most value.

Given Average

a. Multiples of 2 between 2000 and 2020. 2010

b. Multiples of 3 between 2000 and 2020. 2010

c. Multiples of 4 between 2000 and 2020. 2010

d. Multiples of 5 between 2000 and 2020. 2010

e. Multiples of 6 between 2000 and 2020. 2010

f. Multiples of 7 between 2000 and 2020. 2009

Thus, the f. multiples of 7 between 2000 and 2020 have the least average.

4. Find the integer which is twice as far from 5 as it is from -7.

a) Between -7 and 5, the distance is 12 units. The distance if a number from 5 as it is from 7 is
2:1. Using the concept of ratios, the number is 8 units to the left if 5 or 4 units to the right of -
7, which is -3.

b) The other number can be outside the boundaries of 5 and -7 and base on the given, it must be
closer to -7 than 5. In this situation, the number must be on the left side of -7. Thus, the other
number is -19.

So, the integers are -3 and -19.

5. 729 = 9³ and 729 = 27²

God Bless!
