Dedication/Acknowledgement

Page 5
First and foremost, it would be an honor to dedicate this compilation
with the help of several individuals who willingly give assistance in the
preparation and completion of this portfolio.

This project gave us an opportunity to develop our skills to do this

compilation and for her valuable support in our Work Immersion which is
very useful in days come.

I would like also express my appreciation to my family who supported

me morally and financially to do this compilation, especially to my friends
who have given me ideas and information that I needed.

Pre – Immersion

Our work immersion will be started in summer and it gives me a

feeling of personal accomplishment. Before the work immersion started, I
attended seminar in our school regarding work immersion. They tackled
about the do’s and don’ts, especially, the requirements that we must
complete in order for us to participate to work immersion.

In order to start working in Teleperformance, I have to pass the

interview. I already prepared for that, but there’s a part of me that what if I
stuttered? Even though I’m not fluent in speaking English, I tried my best to
pass the interview. I can say that my interview isn’t that good, but I passed. I
was happy back then, and I happily participated with them.

A. Expected Behavior

Page 6
Work Ethics

When I finally start my work immersion I expected that our trainers

and the employees there are professional, low tempered, and approachable
because they are call center knowing that they must be low tempered, calm,
and kind to their client to gain their trust to buy their product. I also expect
that their company is focusing on gaining profit and creating opportunities
for everyone.

Safety in Work Place

Before I started the Work Immersion, I visualize the structure of our

workplace. If it is safe, clean, comfortable and the ambiance is good. It is
essential because this would be the workplace of the employees. I expect
that we will work in the office so that; I didn’t worry about our workplace,
because I know this company would never allow their employees to get
harm.

Confidentiality in the Work Place

Confidentiality is the protection of personal information. One of the most

important confidentiality elements is that they help build and build trust. It
potentially allows information between the client and the worker, and
recognizes that the personal life of a client and all the issues and problems
they have belong to them. If a good company knows how to keep their
employers and business partners information confidential this notifies other
company that would be willing to work with them.

Page 7
B. Appreciating the importance of credentials by:

Writing a Resume

It is important to make or write a proficient resume if you are planning

to apply for a job. It is more than just a document this because details your
history, experience, and qualifications so a potential employer could quickly
and easily see how your individual experiences will lead to the performance
of their company. This document is the employer’s first impression of you
and if you capture the employer’s attention for even a few seconds, then
they are really interested in what it has to offer and having a chance at
winning the job with the right resume.

Filling out application forms

In filling out an application form is essential because you are giving

your personal information. Application forms typically contain a paragraph
explaining that mistakes or false information reported on the application
form may result in application rejection or employment termination.

Visiting the concerned offices where the ff. could be secured:

Barangay Clearance

The Barangay Clearance is a legal document and important because

this is a basis if you are totally their resident of the municipality. By this
document, they will know you by having a good moral character and duly
registered member of your Barangay. They will give you this document when
you inform them the purpose of your request.

Page 8
Police Clearance

The official document published by state or public agency following the

background check by the local authorities is the police clearance. Police
clearance is used for the evaluation and identifying any criminal records
applicants may have. This includes arrests, convictions, lawsuits and criminal
proceedings an applicant might posses.

Mayor’s Clearance

This was one of the most difficult forms to get, because you need to
process for other legal requirements before providing it. The Mayor’s
Clearance is a legal document issued to individuals residing in the
municipality for local employment. It is important to know if you are recently
living in the municipality and to know your records as well. The mayor’s
clearance is for individuals who need a legal purpose.

Medical Certificate

It is important to secure always your healthy lifestyle, the medical

certificate is important especially if you are applying for a job. They required
this to check if you are healthy and no seen defects to your health. Since this
is a recommended clinic from Lakewood there are tons of Lakewoodians
there as well as other future employees. There were tons of people in line so
you need to make sure that you are well hydrated because you will send out
you urine and feces. This will notify them if you are fit to work.

Job Interview Skills

Page 9
Teleperformance conducted a mock interview inside our school
campus to determine who will suit their company’s interest. They tested out
our communication skills and how fluent we could speak in English or How
determined you are to be one of their employees.

Weekly Accomplishment Report

May 27, 2019 (Day 1)

This is the first day of our work immersion. We met our trainers, they
were three girls, Ms. Kryztle, Grace and Alex. We introduced ourselves one
by one, for us to get to know each other. After that, they discussed about
BPO, the meaning of it, advantages and disadvantages, categories, key
terms, customer interaction services, and they gave BPO service example in
order for us to have more knowledge about what type of services and what
are their specific responsibilities.

Even though I'm not that person who taught them, even though I'm just
sitting on the chair and listening to them, it was still hard for me to
understand those lessons. But because of those activities (activities that are
related to what our trainers being discussed) we had, I completely and
clearly understand those lessons.

May 28, 2019 (Day 2)

Our trainers gave us time to review the topic we've discussed

yesterday because we will having a oral recitation. So, they will call someone
to explain a specific topic given by our trainers. After recitation, our oral
recitation goes well and I can say that the result of our oral recitation was
good because all of us did answer all the questions given by our trainers.
Then we proceed to the next topic which is different states of America and
their abbreviation. In addition, they discussed the values of Americans and
Filipinos. After discussion our trainers decided to have an activity (role

Page 13
playing) about that topic where every group will act base on the values of
Filipinos.

Our trainers also tell us about "100 things you can do to improve English".
This lesson was a big help for us because we all know that some of us are
afraid to speak in English, we afraid of being judged by the other people
because we are not good in English and many people always think that when
someone is good in English or he/she can speak in English language Fluently,
they will think of you as a smart person. But because of what our trainers
being discussed, some of us reduce being afraid speaking in English and
now, they speak in English confidently.

And lastly, before we end that day. We had a debate on "Which is more
convenient way in terms of outsourcing, via calls or via chats? After that
debate, the group who chose "via calls" is the winner.

May 29, 2019 (Day 3)

Review about the discussion about yesterday. Then they discussed

about BPO, what's in it? And we had a role playing about how to sell your
product, it's a marketing strategy. After that. They proceed with the
discussion. The topic that they discussed was accepting calls. And what is
the flow when you are accepting calls.

Our trainers gave us many examples for us to have an idea. Then, after
giving many examples they told us to find a partner because we will having a
pair activity (accepting calls, agent and client). After an hour, the activity is
done.

May 31, 2019 (Day 4)

We talked about the Teleperfomance. The day when Teleperformance

started, why we should work in BPO, 5 core values of Teleperformance, The
Roles of Manager and Supervisor and their differences and responsibilities.
After we finished the discussion we watched insidious chapter 1, and we
need to make a reaction about it.

June 3, 2019 (Day 5)

Page 14
We review all the past lessons that our trainers being discussed. Then,
we had an activity. This activity is charades so we need to act and draw for
them to guess what word or thing is it. Then we tackled about idioms and
their meanings. After that, we watched the continuation of insidious chapter
1 which is Insidious chapter 2 and of course, we need to make a reaction
about it.

June 4, 2019 (Day 6)

Our trainers gave us time to review all of the idioms that they
discussed yesterday and Ms. Alex and Ms Grace are going to ask one of the
idioms and we have to give the meaning of it. After that, we talked about the
different callers like Irate, Talkative, Elitist, Mistaken and Positive. Then they
give us a task to a role play, we have to choose one of the type of callers and
we have to act it in front by group. After that activity, we continue watching
the next chapter of insidious which insidious chapter 3.

June 6, 2019 (Day 7)

Ms. Alex and Ms. Grace recap all the lessons then, they decided to do
an activity which is Call Evaluation. It’s either Ms. Alex or Ms. Grace will be a
callers while we the students will be an agents who have to solve their
problems. They call someone to be their agent and they will evaluate us how
good are we. Ms. grace was my customer that time, after our call. She said
that I'm good at following the instructions because I did the call flow but
there was wrong in my interaction with her. She gives me some tips on what
will I say when the conversation is about to end. After that, we talked about
tips on how to answer the interviewer questions. And they call someone to
answer the given question.

Lastly, we watched Insidious chapter 4 and we'll have to submit the

reaction to Ms. Alex through chat. This will be our last immersion on school
because next week we will be move to Alphaland.

June 10, 2019 (Day 8)

Page 15
This is our first day in Teleperformance which is in Makati. That's
because of excitement we arrived there early. We logged in and surrender
our bags and go to the training room without cell phone and wallet before we
go to the Cancer room. I feel different there because of the rule English only
policy so we have no but to speak in English. We met Sir Norman and we had
a career talk. I was amazed of the ambiance of the building and the elevator
makes me dizzy. We went on the canteen there in 3rd floor and we ate there.
I also bought 2 shorts there. We also discovered free coffee at the 15 floor so
we grab the opportunity to try it. We watched another movie in our free time
which is Aladdin and made a reaction. I'm so happy there not because of the
free coffee but because I met different people with different surroundings.

June 11, 2019 (Day 9)

This is our second day in Teleperformance. We arrived there 30

minutes before 8am. Of course same procedure, we logged in and surrender
our things before we go to our practice room. But that time we were in Aries.
We had a recap based on what we've talked about since day 1. Then, we
discussed about I am your customer part 2. After that, they discussed again
the some questions that the interviewers always ask. And Ms. Alex and Ms.
Grace interviewed us based on what they being discussed for us to be
prepared for the 10th day of our immersion because we will having an
interview that day.

June 13, 2019 (Day 10)

Sad to say but this is the last day of our work immersion. We arrived at
TP Makati early for us to be prepared for our final interview at 10am. This
final interview will be recorded and they will evaluate us depends on how we
answer the question on the interview. Supervisor of the company is one of
the interviewers and there are other interviewers but I don't know their
position in the company. Before they interviewed us they said that it
happens in reality and the question that they ask are the questions that they
ask to the people who are applying on their company. Of course, all of us get
nervous and don't know what to do because we don't know what it feels like
in applying a job.

I'm unlucky that day because I'm the one who will interview by the
supervisor. I feel nervous that time because my friend told me that she
Page 16
spoke fast and not easily understand what they trying to say that's why she
didn't answer all of her questions. So, after the interview our trainers asked
questions to us and evaluate us based on the answer and our performance
during the work immersion. And that's the end of our work immersion

Work Immersion Highlights

In 10 days of working with them. The best day is the last 3 days of our
work immersion because we finally came in the company of Teleperfomance
in Makati. Before we go there, all of us were waiting at starmall alabang
because we wanted to go there together. It’s cool because the workplace are
very confidential and we need to observed our behavior for the reputation of
our school and the teleperformance as well. I loved their company not only
because of the free coffee but also because of the ambiance of their
canteen, workplace, and the building itself.

C. Reflection

Problems Encountered

Based on my observation, the problems that I noticed about their

company is the elevator, it makes you feel dizzy so that some of employee
are using stairs instead of elevator.

Suggestions and Recommendations

I suggest that they must change the elevator just like to the elevator of
LRT. Even you use it up and down many times you won’t feel dizziness, you’ll
feel nothing. Imagine if they change the elevator it would be a huge

Page 17
contribution for their employees and all of their employees would be thankful
because finally, they won’t be tired physically and mentally.

Reflection of Entire Experience

In my entire experienced in Teleperformance. One of my dreams is to

work in a company or to be part of the company, so that’s I was happy back
then when I finally work there. In Teleperformance, I experience a lot of
things like being dependent. It was fearful after all because I’m not familiar
to the places and it was my first time to go alone without the guide of my
parent. By commuting, I learned to be independent and how difficult it is, but
it was helpful for me after all. I improve myself and the more I learned
something about Business, it is a motivation for me to choose a Business
course and entire to the business world.

We may encounter different challenges in our life through our health,

financial, and in education. But when started I working in Teleperformance, I
regard a lot of opportunities and careers they offer to everyone. You will feel
like you are part of their family and having a one goal to achieve. It was my
best experience to work in this kind of company and if I will give a chance or
opportunity to work in this company, I will grab this opportunity because I
know they help me not only in my financial problem but also to know them
more and to prove myself.

Page 18
D. Documentation

This was our first day in Work Immersion. In this picture, you can see
to our faces the nervousness.
