Time: 3 Hrs. Max Marks: (80)

General Instructions:
 All questions are compulsory.
 The question paper consist of 30 question divided into 4 section,
 Section A contains 6 questions of 1 mark each. Section B contains 6 questions of 2 marks
each.
Section C contains 10 questions of 3 marks each and Section D contains 8 questions of 4
marks each.
 There is no overall choice. However, internal choice has been provided in 1 question of
section C and D. You have to attempt only one of the alternatives in all such questions.
 All questions in Section A are to be answered in one word or one sentence or as per the
exact requirement of the question.
 This question paper consists 5 pages.

SECTION – A

1) Find perimeter of an equilateral triangle if its area is √48 square cm.


2) Using suitable identity, find the value of x
0.75 × 0.75 × 0.75 + 0.25 × 0.25 × 0.25

3) If ∠POR and ∠QOR form a linear pair and a-b=800 then find the value of a and b.

4) Find the length of the longest rod that can be placed in a room 12m long, 9m wide and 8m high.
5) In a group of 70 persons there are 15 boys, 30 men, 20 girls and rest women, find the probability
that a selected person is woman.
6) Find the distance of the following points from the Y axis: P(3,0) and Q(-5,2).
SECTION – B

7) Rationalize the denominator of and hence find its value, if √2 = 1.414.

8) If a point C lies between the points A and B such that AC= BC, then prove that AC= 2 AB.

Explain by using Euclid’s axiom.


9) A rhombus shaped field has green grass for 18 cows to graze. If each side of the rhombus is 30
meter and its longer diagonal is 48 meter, how much area of grass field will each cow be getting?
10) The area of a cross section of a pipe is 3.5 square cm and water is flowing through this pipe is at
the rate of 40 cm/sec. How much water in liters is delivered by the pipe in one minute ?
11) A chord of a circle is equal to the radius of the circle. Find the angle subtended by the chord at a
point on the minor and also at a point on the major arc. (draw figure)
Or
ABC and ADC are two right triangles with common hypotenuse AC. Prove that ∠CAD = ∠CBD
(draw figure)
12) If (2,-3) is a solution of the equation 2(𝑥 + 1) − 7(𝑦 − 2) = 𝑘, find the value of k. How many
solutions are possible for the given equation.

SECTION – C

13) Marks obtained by 70 students are given below :

14) A frame of lampshade is cylindrical in shape. It has base diameter 28 cm and height 17 cm. If it is
to be covered with a decorative cloth. A margin of 2 cm is to be given for folding it over top and

bottom of the frame. If of cloth is wasted in cutting and stitching, find how much cloth is required

to be purchased for covering the frame?

15) PQRS and ABRS are parallelograms and X is any point on the side BR. Show that
(i) ar (PQRS) = ar (ABRS)
(ii) ar (AXS) = ½ ar (PQRS)
16) i)Express 1.3222 …. + 0.3535353535….. as a fraction in simplest form
ii)Find the value of (81)0.16 × (81)0.09
17) AB is a line segment and P is its midpoint D and E are points on the same side of AB such that
∠𝐵𝐴𝐷 = ∠𝐴𝐵𝐸 and ∠𝐸𝑃𝐴 − ∠ 𝐷𝑃𝐵. Show that

(i) ∆ 𝐷𝐴𝑃 ≅ ∆ 𝐸𝐵𝑃


(ii) 𝐴𝐷 = 𝐵𝐸

18) A circular park of radius 20 meteor is situated in a colony. Three boys Ankur, Syed and David. Are
sitting at equal distance on its boundary each having a toy telephone in his hands to talk to each
other. Find the length of the string of each phone.

19) In figure 𝑎𝑟 (∆ 𝐷𝑅𝐶) = 𝑎𝑟 (∆ 𝐷𝑃𝐶) and 𝑎𝑟 (∆ 𝐵𝐷𝑃) = 𝑎𝑟 (∆ 𝐴𝑅𝐶) show that quadrilateral
ABCD and DCPR are trapeziums.

In figure ABC and ABD are two triangles on the same base AB. If line segment CD is bisected by
AB at O. show that 𝑎𝑟 (∆ 𝐴𝐵𝐶) = 𝑎𝑟 (∆ 𝐴𝐵𝐷)
20) i) Find the median of the following data:-
17, 23, 57, 46, 33, 29, 28, 30, 34.
If observation 23 is removed from the data, then find the new median.
ii) Find the difference between the new median and the original median.
21)The polynomials (𝑎𝑥 3 + 3𝑥 2 − 3) and (2𝑥 3 − 5𝑥 + 𝑎) when divided by (𝑥 − 4) leave the same
remainder . Find the value of ‘a’.
22)In an isosceles triangle ABC with AB=AC, D and E are points on BC such that BE=CD. Show that
AD=AE .

Section-D(4 marks)

23) A parent has calculated data of number of schools based on the monthly fees, so that he can choose
the school for admission of his child. The data is as follows :-

If a school is selected at random , find the probability that the school is having :-
i) Minimum fee
ii) Maximum fee
iii) fee Rs1000 or more but less than Rs 1500

24) Prove that the angle subtended by an arc at the centre is double the angle subtended by it at any
point on the remaining part of the circle.( Discuss all three cases.)

25) Twenty seven iron spheres, each of radius 3 cm are melted and recasted to form a sphere of radius R.
Find :- i) Radius of big sphere ii) Ratio of surface area of small sphere to big sphere.
OR
A solid metallic sphere of diameter 21 cm melted and recasted into a number of smaller cones, each of
radius 3.5 cm and height 3 cm. Find the number of cones formed.

26) By writing the steps of construction , construct a triangle PQR in which QR=6 cm, ∠𝑄 = 60° and
PR-PQ=2 cm. Verify your construction.

27) i) Divide 9𝑧 3 − 27𝑧 2 − 100𝑧 + 300 by (3z +10). Find quotient and remainder.
ii) Factorise : 𝑎3 − 8𝑏 3 − 64𝑐 3 − 24𝑎𝑏𝑐.

28) ABCD is a trapezium in which AB is parallel to DC, BD is a diagonal and E is the midpoint of AD.
A line is drawn through E , parallel to AB intersecting BC at F. Show that F is midpoint of BC.
If AB= 12 cm and DC= 8 cm. Find the length of EF.
29) Draw a frequency polygon for the following data:-

What percent of students have acquired marks between 80-100?

30) Draw the graphs of the lines represented by the equations by 𝑥 + 𝑦 = 4 and 2𝑥 − 𝑦 = 2 on the same
graph paper. Find :- i) Point of intersection of the two lines.
ii) Shade the enclosed region made by the two lines with X axis.
