Lesson Plan in MAPEH 8 (HEALTH)

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson the students will be able to:


Knowledge - Applies decision-making skills in managing sexuality-related issues.
Skills - Form a
- Assume responsibility in making decisions related to sexual behaviors guided by
Attitude
family.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Different issues/concerns of teenagers – MAPEH 8 60 minutes
Reference/s:
Teacher’s Guide/ Curriculum Guide (H8FH-Ih-23)/ Learner’s Material pp.
Instructional Materials:
laptop, power point presentation, chalk, pen and paper

III. PROCEDURE
a. PREPARATION
i. Checking of Attendance
ii. Review
Ask the students the following questions:
 In dealing with teenage issues and concern, do you seek the help of your
family
 How do you come up with your decisions?
 What are your bases in decision making?
iii. Motivation
Ask the students to read the story entitled “The Lady or the Tiger?,” a story
about a king who has a peculiar method of putting criminals on trial. They’re
placed in an arena and allowed to pick between two doors. Behind one is a
beautiful woman; behind the other, a hungry tiger. After they read the story, ask
the following questions:
 What was your reaction after you read the story?
 Was the king just or abusive with such way of punishing the criminals?
 What was the moral of the story? Can you relate it to your daily living? How
would you end the story? Did the tiger come out of that door, or was it the lady
who came out ?
b. PRESENTATION
Teacher will lead discussion on decision-making skills in managing sexuality-
related issues.
c. GENERALIZATION
A decision is a choice you make or act upon. A good decision is a decision in
which you have carefully considered the outcome of each choice. To accept
personal responsibility is to accept how your decisions may affect you and other
people.
Decision -making skills will help you make decisions based on your needs and
desires. At the same time, it helps you to resist peer pressure Decision - making
skills must be practiced and exercised in resolving issues and concerns about
sexuality. At the end, you have to understand gender and human sexuality with a
lesson in decision - making.

IV. EVALUATION

Give a personal experience where you applied the steps in decision making.
Explain each briefly.

V. ASSIGNMENT

Make a research on how to handle a situation and make a decision.
