A Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan

Date: March 11, 2020 Grade and Section: Grade 9

Subject: Mathematics 9 Time: 7:30-8:30 AM

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the learners must have:
1. defined a proportion;
2. determined the proportionality theorem;
3. cited the importance of proportion in real life situation; and
4. applied proportionality theorem in finding measurement.

III. Procedure

A. Daily Routine

1. Prayer
The teacher will ask someone to lead the prayer.
2. Greetings
The teacher will greet the students and the students will respond.
3. Classroom Management
The teacher will instruct the students to pick up the pieces of papers and
arrange their chairs properly.
4. Checking of Attendance
The teacher will check the class attendance.
5. Collecting of Assignment
The teacher will collect the assignment, and the students will pass it
forward.

B. Review/Recall
The teacher will ask some questions regarding with the last topic
discussed.
C. Motivation
The teacher will post sets of analogy with one missing term and the
teacher will ask the students to complete the analogy.

D. Presentation
From the activity done earlier, the teacher will say that the concept of the
previous activity is the same as for the topic for today which is proportion.

E. Discussion
1. Discussion of the concept of proportion
2. Discussion of the proportionality theorem in triangle.
3. Examples of problems involving proportions in triangles.

F. Generalization
The teacher will ask the students to generalize the topic based on what
they have discussed. The teacher will ask:
1. How will you define trapezoid and kite?
2. How will you find the median of a trapezoid?

G. Application
The teacher will group the students into four. The teacher will give them
a figure with unknown quantities. The students will be giving answers according
to what is asked. E
