al-mujeeb: the responding one

The Name of Allah, Al-Mujeeb, means “The Responding One." Allah (swt.) says
Himself, :“ … Indeed, my Lord is near and responsive [Quran, 11:61] and … [We are]
the best of responders.”[Quran, 37:75] Prophet Muhammad S.A.W stated, “Verily
your Lord is Generous and Shy. If His servant raises his hands to Him (in
supplication) He becomes shy to return them empty.” (Ahmad, Abu Dawud,
Tirmidhi) Therefore, we should always call upon Allah (swt.) and ask for His help
because He is our sole provider in this Dunya and the Hereafter.

bahamas relief donations

Following the extensive damage left

behind by hurricane Dorian, the Islamic
School of Miami began a project to donate
supplies over to Jamaat-UL-Islam Masjid in
the Bahamas. Alhamdulillah, within two
weeks, the school raised over $3,000
through student donations. Our older boys
and girls also physically contributed to
organizing, packing, and storing supplies
into the shipment container. The
volunteering hours the Academy students
contributed also built management skills.
With the help and donations of the other
masjids in South Florida and the generous
Muslim community, we were able to raise a Middle and High School
total of about $25,000 in cash and supplies. students loading supplies

Along with the supplies, students from each

grade level also hand-made beautifully
meaningful letters to comfort the people of
the Bahamas. These letters were included
along with the donations. This creative
project allowed students to personally and
individually express their care for their
brothers and sisters in need. It also instilled
the importance of generosity in our
community. May Allah reward us all for our
efforts and make us out of those who receive
His blessings and mercy.
