1.0 Inspection Run without Logic board

It is possible to take an elevator into operation without the logic board being required.
The following points are prerequisites fot this:
- Safty chain closed
- Installation switched to ERO or INS ( otherwise danger of accident)
- Secure, that the jumper from terminal E1 to E2 is disconnected. Otherwise the car will
start automatically to top or bottom landing ( see contract wiring diagram).
- At plug P1 on logic board pin 7 and pin 8 have to be connect with a 1A cutout or with a
brigde.
- Necessary fuses in
- Remove and mark the wires connected to the terminalss A2 of the Relays U,D,and G ( T-
and 1A-Relay with ONE SPEED)
- Connect the terminals A2 of the above mentioned relays to HL1 usinga destinct wire.
- Switch on main switch and check direction of rotation.

Attention!
Before taking the electronic into operation these HL1 connection must
be removed. The varistor to supress inductive voltage peaks when the
brake drops must be connected directly to the terminals of the motor
connection box, terminals B and B1 during shipment to make sure that it
is available on jobsite when starting up.

In the case of Gamma & VF Drive installations an inspection run without logic board is
impossible.

4.0 Starting Up Routine

The starting up routine depends on the specification of the installation, with or without ex-
tension board, and is to be carried out as follows:

- All voltages at the power supply connector P1 of the logic board must be tested under no
load before the connector is mounted.

ATTENTION !

BEFORE TAKING THE ELECTRONIC INTO OPERATION THESE HL1CONNECTION

MUST BE REMOVED:
THE VARISTOR TO SUPPRESS INDUCTIVE VOLTAGE PEAKS WHEN THE BREAK
DROPS MUST BE CONNECTED DIRECTLY TO THE TERMINALS OF THE MOTOR
CONNECTION BOX; TERMINALS B AND B1: DO NOT CARE FOR POLARITY:
THIS VARISTOR IS CONNECTED TO THE CONTROLLER TERMINALS B AND B1 DUR-
ING SHIPMENT TO MAKE SURE THAT IT IS AVAILABLE ON JOBSITE WHEN START-
ING UP:

- Check wether the programming switch S3 is in position 2 ( at top ). Otherwise the installa-
tion parameters programmed at the factory may be altered.

- Switch on the OCB.

- Switch on the fuse FC2

Voltage Check

Conditions:

- The voltages may be measured with an analog reading meter (20 K/V) or with a digital
voltage meter ( 10M/V).
- Depending on the meter used, the voltage value received is different, for instance:

RF1 output: 27VDC with analog voltage meter

RF1 output: 46 VDC with digital voltage meter

4.2 Voltage Check

- If this is not the case, thhe transformer connection on the primary side may be altered
from 380 VAC to 418 VAC in the case of too high voltages or from 418 VAC to 380 VAC
in the case of too low voltages.

Note: Under load the readings of both type meters, analog and digital, will show virtually
the same value.

- The LED VLC indicates a proper logic voltage of 5 VDC.

- For the following board test no further connections to the logic board must be made. This
way an INS or ERO operation is simulated on the Logic board.

Board Test ( Self Test )

A board test is only possible in „ Mode 2 “. This test comprises a check of the input / output
level converters ( calls and tell tales ) and the memory. The test procedure itself is de-
scribed in „ GUIDE LINES “, see table of contents.

If no error occurs the test is terminated and a 4 appears on the seven segment display.
To carry out the parameter test described hereafter the connector P3 must be mounted on
the logic board.

4.3 Parameter Check

The table „installation parameters“, which contains the initial memory data, is part of the
contract wiring diagram.
The actual memory data stored under ist hexadecimal addresses can be compared to the
data of this table by means of the parameter test.
The procedure is as follows:

- The parameter test is only possible in mode 3

see section „ Field Test Mechanism “.

- If the stored memory data differs from the data shown in the table, the respective
parameter must be reprogrammed according to the contract wiring diagram table.
For details see mode 4 „programming of parameters“, see section „Field Test
Mechanism“.

- Switch off the OCB.

- As the installation wiring was checked already the remaining connectors can now
be mounted onto their respective CB.

- Switch to ERO or INS.

- Switch on the OCB.

- Check the safty chain.

- Run the elevator on INS through the hoistway and test the final limit switches for
correct operation.

- Test the signals IPU, IPD and DZ. In the on-state of these signals the respective
LED’s must be constantly on.

- If this is not the case, the magnets must be checked for polarity and distance
from the magnet switch.

- When the above procedures are carried out, the elevator can be switched to normal.

- Depending on the position of the car is inside the /1LS or /2LS and the DZ.

- Operation of the switch S2 results in a call to the bottom landing, simultaneous

operation of S1 and S2 in a call to the top landing

- Finally a functional test of the elevator must be carried out.

Parameter Check cont’d

Note:
In a case of a fault during the functional test both, the flashing and the non-flashing value
displayed on the seven segment display in mode 1 „normal operation mode“ must be writ-
ten down in the service report. This report is important for fault diagnosis.
For solutions of special problems please consult your chief adjuster.
