A DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN GRADE 8- ENGLISH

OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:

a. Appreciate the story "Tale of Chunhyang"

b. Determine the characters being described.

c. Participate actively and fully in class discussion.

d. Answer comprehension questions correctly.

e. Write a poem or a spoken poetry about love.

SUBJECT MATTER: Tale of Chu'nhyang

REFERENCES: Grade 8 English Reading Material and google.com.

LEARNERS: Grade 8

TIME: 2 hours

MATERIALS: Chalkboard, chalk, printed story

REVIEW/INTRODUCE

Class, this morning we will tackle another story from Korea entitled "Tale of
Chu'nyang".

MOTIVATION

1.Class, Do you know what a Tale means?

2. Have you ever been in love? How would you react if your parents forbids your
relationship with someone whom you love?

PRESENTATION

Pre-reading

Unlocking of difficulties through answering the defined words given by the


teacher in 10 minutes.

(The teacher will ask the students to form a big circle, after that she will give a

ball of crampled paper to one student and instruct them to pass the crampled
ball of paper around as the music plays. Whenever the teacher stops the music,
that exact student who was holding the ball of crampled paper will answer the
question which is asked by the teacher. Someone who can't answer the question
correctly will be given a punishment.

Okay, let’s have an activity.

(The teacher will ask the students to group themselves into 5 and let
them make a poem or a spoken poetry about love. They will be given
10 minutes to complete the task. Each group should have 2 or 3
representatives to perform their assigned task in front of the class.)
