INTRODUCTION

Due to the globalization and modernization people invented digital classroom in

which students don’t need to go to school to attend class, instead they are using
technology for them to attend class. In our generation, people are more likely to use
technology. Therefore the government will have an idea of making the traditional
classroom into something that is beyond the modernization or what they called the
digital classroom. And also some schools in the Philippines uses digital classrooms like
Mapua. According to (Manila standard, 2018) Adding to its massive efforts in
implementing online education, Mapúa University  had launched a new teaching-
learning innovation called the STEM Teach Mapúa, which provides free online teaching
enhancement trainings for Senior High School teachers.

Under the digital classroom there are digital presentation, online teaching or
virtual classroom. First in digital presentation, there are videos presenting topics about
math. Through this presentation, students can get information and guides in solving
problems, students can reply the presentation about the topic being presented until they
learned the lesson. And the students can learned anytime. Math can teach globally
because it uses the universal language which is English. So that can be teach online.
(David, 2018). The use of technology more specifically the laptop shows how innovative
the teachers are nowadays. In the field of instruction, the teachers are using technology
based instructional materials as part of their teaching like the computers, power point,
lapel, speakers, DVD players, television and etc. We can also incorporate the use of
social media in our instruction and through this we can get students interest and
attention towards learning.

Teachers and students will benefit from this because it is convenient for them to
teach and to learn. For the teacher, the benefits they can get is the convenience in
terms of teaching students. And the advantage for the teacher is can give more ideas
and example for the students to easily get the topic. And for the students it is also
convenient, since they only need technology to attend class and the advantage for the
student they can get easily reach out to the teacher if there is any questions, students
can search about the topic to understand the lesson.

If this kind of idea being implemented throughout the country it will have
improvements in terms of education system. If the educational system being innovated
it can produced globally competitive students and it has the impact to the economic
growth of the country.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

General problem: Is the generation z ready enough for the implementation of digital
classroom?

1. What are the factors affecting the implementation of digital classroom?

2. What are the barriers may arise in learning mathematics through online?
3. What are the factors could affect the learning of the students?

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The essence of the study is to encourage everyone especially the generation Z

to adapt to the globalization of the educational system as being state in education 5.0
and the implementation of the digital classroom.

The study benefits the generation Z students and also the teachers who are
inclined to this of profession. It may be useful when in terms of guiding and promoting
next level teaching and learning method.

Teacher and students are both beneficiaries

in terms of efficiency of teaching and learning. In teachers they are convenient the way
of teaching the students. In students they can learned math lesson anytime anywhere.
RATIONALE

There are some reasons why the researcher conducted this research, first to
assess the readiness of generation Z to the digital classroom. Next, to evaluate the
mathematical competence towards digital classroom. Lastly to correlate the levels of
effectiveness between traditional and modern teaching method in terms of mathematics.

METHODOLOGY

Research Sample

The scope of this study is the generation Z (Generation Z, or Gen Z for short, is
the demographic cohort succeeding the Millennials. Demographers and researchers
typically use the mid- to late-1990s as starting birth years, while consensus has not
been reached on the ending birth years) particularly to get the sample from this
population the researcher wants to investigate the Grade 7 students of Mandaluyong
High School they have been chosen because of this year level introduces the high level
mathematics.

The sample respondents will be selected from a group of Grade 7 students of

Mandaluyong High School. Out of a certain number of students in one classroom the
researcher will randomly pick up 30 students.

Research Design

The researcher will use descriptive research design wherein they will going to
gather information or data and they will going to interpret presented data and provide
insights in to the why and how of the research.
Research Instrument

The researcher will provide a questionnaire wherein the questionnaire is an

exploratory questions. Through this research instrument the researcher will come up to
a result accordingly to what they are expected.
