Position: EI&C DESIGN ENGINEER

Company: Newton Le Willows
Location(s): England
Responsibilities:  The job included doing all the Mechanical, Electrical and Instrument layout and
detail design drawings for power stations, emergency power units and ships. I
had to do all the cable schedules and electrical connection drawings for
approval, installation then the red lines.
 Compiled the P & I drawings and all the packages
 Drew the E, I & C drawings for the Ruston packages.
 Most of the drawing where computer aided and some drawing board work.
 There was a lot of design work carried out on improving existing designs and on
the new lines such as duel fuel diesel and gas. The improvement to existing lines
was designing the new piping to fit the new improved turbochargers and
upgrading the electrics and electronics on older power stations.
 The more exotic design work came in the refit of new engines into old ships and
trains.
