1.0 OBJECTIVES

This aims to create a systematic procedure in

1.1 crafting/preparing Daily Lesson Log (DLL) /Daily Lesson Plan (DLP)

1.2 delivering crafted Daily Lesson Log (DLL) /Daily Lesson Plan (DLP)

1.3 assessing and evaluating the teaching and learning process using the results of
formative tests and summative tests

2.0 SCOPE

2.1 This procedure focuses on the teaching and learning process including crafting
and delivery of DLL/DLP, and assessing and evaluating the results of
formative/summative tests/performance tasks.

4.0 DEFINITION OF TERMS

4.1 Assess. This refers to the process of evaluating the learners’ performance.

4.2 Crafting of test questions. This refers to the process of making test questions.

4.3 Feedback. This refers to giving comments, suggestions and


recommendations

4.4 Learners’ Performance. This refers to the outcome of the learners’


accomplishments in a given task.

4.5 Learners’ Portfolio. This refers to compilation of learners’ outputs, collection of


drawings, test results, etc. that represent learners’ works and
accomplishments.

4.6 Level of understanding. This refers to the ability to grasp meaning, explain,
relate ideas, a student would show comprehension and learning within each
level, the individual capacity of the learners.

4.7 Monitoring. This refers to checking of learners’ outputs and performances.

4.8 Objectives. This refers to the basic tools that underlie all planning and strategic
activities. A specific result that a person or system aims to achieve within a time
frame and with available resources.

4.9 Parent-Teacher Conference. This refers to meeting of parents and teachers


regarding learners’ status and progress.

4.10 Proofreading. This refers to the act of finding and correcting mistakes in
copies of printed text before the final copies are printed. Most of the errors were
corrected at this stage.

4.11 Remedial Classes. This refers to a class of students who did not meet the
mastery level of 80%.

4.12 Scan. This refers to reading techniques that use rapid eye movement and
keywords to move quick lying order to find specific facts.

4.13 Skim. This refers to the reading techniques that use rapid eye movement and
keywords to move quickly in order to get a general overview of the material
text.

4.14 Test Construction. This refers to the act of making test questions to be used as
a tool of assessment.

4.15 Summative Assessment. This refers to the appraisal of learning at the end of
an instructional unit or at a specific point in time. It includes, chapter test, unit test
quarterly exams and other standardized tests. formative assessment, measures
progress and functions as a diagnostic tool to help specific students.Summative
assessment includes midterm exams, final project, papers, teacher-designed tests,
standardized tests, and high-stakes tests. As a subset of summative assessment,
standardized tests play a pivotal role in ensuring that schools are held to the same
standards and that all students regardless of race or socio-economic background

perform to expectations. Summative assessment provides educators with the metrics


to know what’s working and what’s not.

4.16 Formative Assessment. This is an assessment for learning. It is a range of


formal and informal assessment procedures conducted by teachers during the
learning process in order to modify teaching and learning activities to improve student
attainment.

4.17 E-class Record. This refers to an electronic template use by all private and
public school teachers for recording and computation of grades.

4.18 Quarterly Recognition refers to the recognition given at the end of the quarter
to learners who have worked hard in their academics, conduct and attendance for
their efforts.

1. Performance Award is given to Kindergarten learners to recognize their


outstanding achievement based on different domains and/or learning
competencies of the kindergarten curriculum at the end of every quarter.

2. Academic Excellence Award

The Award for Academic Excellence within the quarter is given to learners
from grades 1 to 12 who have attained an average of at least 90 and passed all
learning areas. The Average Grade per Quarter is reported as a whole number
following DepEd Order No. 8, s. 2015.
3. Recognition for Perfect Attendance is given at the end of every quarter to
encourage learners to attend and actively participate in class. Perfect
attendance means that a learner must be present in all of his/her classes,
and must have no absences for the entire quarter. Learners who are
representing the school for various purposes (e.g., in-school or off
campus activities) may also qualify for this award.

4.19 Mean Percentage Scores (MPS). This indicates the ratio between the number
of correctly answered items in a test and the total number of items.

4.20 Least Learned Competency. This refers to any learning that acquired 70% and
below of the Mastery level. A competency that needs intervention.

4.21 Table of Specifications. This refers to a table which is prepared by the teacher
before test construction. It ensures that the test or assessment measures what it
intends to measure-content and thinking skills. It contains the following:
competencies derived from the curriculum guide which are taught within a specified
grading period, number of days which they are taught, percentage of emphasis given
for each, assigned number, placement and type of test items, and the cognitive
domains.
