WiNG 5.8.3.2-005R Release Notes

Service Release Notes for WiNG 5.8.3.2-005R

Please Note: Service releases are made available to fix specific customer reported
issues in a timely manner. Service releases are not as extensively tested as main
releases (such as 5.8.3.0-041R). The next maintenance or manufacturing release will
incorporate all qualifying and preceding service releases.

This document is an addendum to the release notes for the main release 5.8.3.0-041R.

Resolved Issues

This service release 5.8.3.2-005R contains important fixes for customer reported issues and
doesn’t include new features. This release was only tested for specific customer
configuration.
Following SPRs and CQs addressed in this service release:

SPR/CQ Description
Redirection fails for wired Captive Portal clients and hsd process crashes
WING-31023 frequently.
Unable to establish SSL connection to Retail Next server from NX9K due
SPR 29821 to unknown CA
AP 7562 - Non root AP(s) configured for mesh-acs gets stuck in scanning
SPR 29826 state with all candidate channels incorrectly marked as invalid
No Output Obtained From CLI Command "show l2tpv3 tunnel-summary
SPR 29781 on <hostname>
UTMP file can grow large with no way of clearing of trimming the file and
SPR 29858 thus impacting flash space on the device.
SPR 29913 NX 9600 panic - unable to handle kernel paging request in cs_mu_get
WING-30491 AP 8432: Support LLDP Rx on GE2 port
NTP is synchronized but AP clock drift keeps increasing without correcting
WING-31038 clock to right time
AP 7532: PMQ overflow when smart-rf enabled was causing radio to get
WING-30383 stuck.
WING-30947 "show smart-rf radio energy on" command is not working.
AP7522 sets the VHT supported MCS TX/RX rate as 1 spatial stream
SPR 29928 instead of 2 in the Association Response. In the beacon it is correctly set

2. Platforms Supported

This release applies to all platforms released with WiNG 5.8.3.0-041R.

3. Firmware Upgrade/Downgrade Procedure


The method described in this section uses the Command Line Interface (CLI) procedures. To
log into the CLI, either SSH, Telnet or serial access can be used.

For detailed upgrade procedure – please refer to WiNG 5.8.3 release notes.

Upgrade from WiNG v5.x.x.x to WiNG v5.8.3.x

1. Copy the controller image to your tftp/ftp server.

2. Use the ―upgrade ftp://<username>:<password>@<ip address of


server>/<name of file>‖, or ―upgrade tftp://<ip address of server>/<name of
file> command from CLI or Switch->Firmware->Update Firmware option from
the GUI. You may need to specify the username and password for your ftp server.

3. Restart the controller. From CLI the command is ―reload.
