Results

The application responded in all of the 10 registered accounts. And each

registered account were able to access the door lock system. Each of the 10 trials of

each registered account successfully administer the system. In contrast the system

did not cater the 10 unregistered accounts.

The door lcok system's response time is directly proportional to the latency of

the wifi provider. The slower the Wi-Fi, the longer it is for the device to respond

(Table 1).

The application of the door lock system is compatible from the versions 5.1

(Lollipop) to the highest android version up to date which is version 9 (Pie) in all 5

trials (Table 2).

The alarm responded excellently in all 5 trials after forcing the door open while

the door lock is LOCKED (Table 3).

Discussion

The door lock system together with the alarm and its notification is effective in

function. The application can support all versions of android devices. The emergency
unlock button also operated properly in all 5 trials. The reponse time of the door lock

system is directly proportional to the latency provided by the wifi provider. The range

of a mobile device and ESP8266 12-E WiFi Module to the WiFi provider can also

affect the response time of the door lock system The internet speed can be affected by

the wireless adapter and router. It is recommended to lessen the distance of the door

lock system and a mobile device to the wifi provider to increase its efficiency because

as the distance between the router and the client is doubled, the signal decreases by

one-third of its original strength. Things that block the signal are metal. Objects that

may affect the signal should be moved. (Home Telecom, 2016). Therefore, the door

lock system is less efficient as you increase the range of the door lock or a mobile

device to a WiFi provider. Similarly,the MBPS offered by the WiFi provider can also

affect the efficiency of whole system.The speed of the SMS (short message service)

notification in the door lock system may be affected if the Telecom operators’ SMS

capacity in a certain cell/area exceeds its handling limit or device malfunctions or

errors (KanHan Technologies Limited, n.d.)
