2. Menstruation
The menstrual cycle or female reproductive
cycle, consists of the ovarian cycle and the
uterine cycle.
It results from a complex interaction of the
hypothalamus, the anterior pituitary and
the ovary.
The interaction causes the ovary to release
a mature ovum and prepares the uterine
lining to receive and nourish the ovum it is
fertilized.
If the ovum is not fertilized the menstrual
cycle begins with onset of menstruation.
3. Menopausal Period
Menopause means permanent cessation of
menstruation at the end of reproductive life
due to loss of ovarian follicular activity.
The average age being 50 years.
RECAPITULIZATION: By the end of class teaching, the students were able to answer the following questions:
Summary : - The gonads are the sex glands of the female and male. The reproductive organ in female are those which are concered with copulation,
fertilization, growth and development of the fetus and its subsequent exit to the outer world.
Conclusion :-The class teaching on Physiology of Female Reproductive System will be beneficial for the students, as it will help them to state and
understand the physiology of female reproductive system.
