My Family's Outing at Bukit Segar

A couple weeks ago, my family and I went for an outing to Bukit Segar waterfall. The trip took us
about an hour to reach our destination. It was a pleasant journey as we saw endless layouts of
breathtaking terrain along the way.

The waterfall sparkled during that sultry day and the freshness of the air made the place magical.
The mesmerizing scene of cascading waterfall made my siblings and I jumped into excitements as we
changed into our swimming trunks. We dived into the crystal clear water with haste. The chilly water
touched our nerves in a very serene way.

We were swimming and splashing water towards each other, laughter was bursting through the
refreshing air, while others were seen to be netting some fishes. The overall experience was
soothing to the ears and mind to listen the cascading waterfall splashed the cool water beneath. The
paradise-like place was not a miss for me to take pictures. So, we took a family photo to keep the
memorable day as a souvenir.

Our stomach began rumbling and roaring like a monster after some time in the water. My mother
then spread the mat on the ground and began displaying food on it. She prepared many scrumptious
delicacies for us to grab a bite. My father also helped her with arranging the food. My little brother
and sister were the first to dig in. We finished the food as if we were fasting the whole time.
Everyone was satisfied thus we packed our stuff and reached home before dusk.

The family outing at the waterfall was simply an example of how our family members bond and
loosen up during our free time. All of us should keep a close-knitted relationship family because
blood is thicker than water. There are plenty other ways of achieving it such as cooking together,
cleaning the house together, visiting relatives who are close to our hearts, or even going to the park
for basking or going to the movies. Therefore, healthy relationships among family can be
accomplished for a healthier emotional growth.
I truly value my relationship with my parents. The role of my parents and my siblings in my life can hardly ever

be overstated. To begin with, I should state that my parents have always provided me with support. Their opinion

has always played a significant role in my decision making process. Whenever I had a problematic situation over

the course of my life I would necessarily talk to my parents about an issue that generated a seemingly

irresolvable dilemma. I could go talk to my father about almost anything. When I was in high school and actually

all my way through college my parents used to give my valuable advices as to what kind of men I should choose

for relationships, what classes I should take and what cloths I should put on. They always taught me something. I

cannot say that I necessarily followed their advice. The ultimate source that I always refer to when I have to make

an important decision is my own brain. I believe that I am smart enough as well as experienced enough to make

my own decisions. However, it is always important to consult my parents simply because they might give me a

different perspective that I would never think of on my own. Even though their opinion might not be exactly what I

am looking for at a particular point in my life, their contribution is extremely valuable. It is hard to explain but

sometimes when I get in a really complex position and I feel that I know the answer to a question that torments

me I go talk to my parents anyway. Most of the time I am totally positive that I will not take their advice and that

my own decision will the one that I will take eventually but it is just important for me to have my parents hear my

story and contribute to my decision. In other words there are times when I need someone to talk to. My parents

and my siblings are the only people that I will select for that role.

My parents and siblings provide a great deal of moral support at times of trouble. However, the role of those

people in my life is not confined to comforting me when I cannot find a way out of a complex situation. My

relationship with my brother and sister is somewhat different. Of course my brother and sister support me a lot in

almost any situation and I am sure that they are the people that I can count on in case I have a dilemma to deal

with. However, there has always been tremendous competition among us in the family. It was always vital for me

to excel my siblings in almost every aspect of life. Back when I was a high school student I felt like I needed to

pick better grades in all the classes that we took together. When it was time for me to pick a university to apply to

I always had to know what schools my brother and sister applied to so that I could apply to a better one. That

ultimate desire to be the best in the family has always dominated my personality. At this point I cannot say for

sure whether it is a good or bad thing. Sometimes I happened to excel in something and that brought me

enormous satisfaction. Other times I would sustain a considerable failure and that would just devastate me

completely. Nevertheless, now that I can take a look back at my entire life and consciously evaluation everything

I ever did I can confidently state that I would not have accomplished most of the things that I have ever done in

my life had I not have my siblings. They were the source of my energy and my drive that motivated and inspired

me to persevere and keep going even when a situation was bleak and hopeless. My brother and sister are that

people that I have to thank for almost everything that I have achieved over the course of my life. I did not realize

that when I was younger. Now I can clearly see their role in my life.
A VISITING TO THE ORPHANAGE –school extra

Last Saturday, the Interact Club had organised a visit to the orphanage which named
"Rumah Bahagia Orphanage "that was located in Kuala Lumpur. The trip was comprised of
thirty members and accompanied by three teachers. We boarded a huge bus from our
school to the destination and arrived at about 10.00 a.m in the morning.

Our arrival were greeted by all of the little cute children and some of the volunteers.
They looked so happy when they saw us. They cheered happily and welcomed us with
opened arms. All of us were surprised with their respond.

The event was started off with a short opening speech by the president of Interact Club
followed by a welcomed speech by the head of Rumah Bahagia Orphanage. Then, we also
gave out the scrumptious apple pie that we had made in school to the children. They
looked so ecstatic and were in a high glee.

After that, we played games with the little children there such as tug-of-war, gunny sack
race and bobbing for apples race at the courtyard of the house. We had a lot of fun and the
children enjoyed themselves very well. They seemed to have a nice time with us. Lastly, we
also gave presents that we had brought to all the children included the volunteers there.

Soon, it was time to leave. Everyone had a great time and this event was a success.
Before we went back to school, we gave each of the little cute children a bear hug. We
hope to visit another home again in the next summer holidays.
Essay Speech PT3 : Best Written Essay Speech For Teacher’s
day
A very good morning to our respected and honourable principal, teachers and my fellow friends.
In conjunction with Teacher’s day, I as the head prefect of our school have been asked to give a
speech.

On 16th May, Teacher’s Day is celebrated by all of us and across the world. The main purpose
of Teacher’s Day celebration is for us to value and treasure their spirited dedication and untiring
service. Time and energy may have been sacrificed by the teachers to bring up and give the best
outcomes to the pupils. A very motherly look have been used by them to look after us like their
own children. In preparation for our examinations, they also have imparted and convey on the
students a great deal of knowledge and skills. Teachers are also a good counsellors which
means they are good listeners and the one who will advise and correct us if we do wronged.
Many students have turned over a new leaf and go down the right path. These are all caused by
the teacher’s concern towards their students.

Today, we have lined up a few programmes and activities, as an appreciation for our beloved
and dedicated teachers. First and foremost, teachers are invited to attend a concert. In the
concert there will be many performances. A chorus and magic show also would be there. In
addition, teachers will also participate in games that have been organised. Teachers and students
are been prepared to have few games together. Before we leave, the teachers would be
prepared with a special lunch and will be served by our school canteen.

Today is the big day that we can show our big and deep appreciation to our teachers. So, I
would like to take this chance and golden opportunity to express my gratitude and to thank our
beloved teachers. Last but not least, the importance of appreciating our respected teachers
should be emphasized. We can show our appreciation in many ways such as listening to their
advice and by getting flying colours in the examinations. Lastly, I would like to share this quote “A
teacher is like a candle it consumes itself to light the way for others.”

Thank you for lending me your ears.

CHILDREN’S DAY

In every school the most exciting activity is the annual school sports. It is held once a year,
around the month of December. The winter afternoon is the ideal time for having school sports.
Our school is quite famous for its sports. Last year our annual school sports day was organized
on 15 December. It was conducted for two days. The first day was the junior sports day from
class 1 to 5. The second day was for the senior boys from classes 6 to 12. It was held in our
school play ground.

There were many events like races, jumps, throws, hop-skip-jump, basketball, tennis, musical
chairs, etc. There were obstacle and walking races too. The most popular were the marble-and-
spoon-in-the-mouth and sack races. Races were also arranged for the staff, teachers and
parents. The participating students were divided according to age. We have four different
houses. Flags of different colours were fluttering all around the ground. All the spectators were
seated on chairs beside the ground.

Our sports' teacher conducted all the events with the help of few other teachers. The sports
commenced at 9 a.m. with drill and march past. The participants lined up before the start of every
event and they were cheered by the spectators. They all wore vests and socks of their house
colours.

The winners were given medals and cups. Unsuccessful contestants were given participation
certificates. Throughout the year we have lots of activities like football, volleyball, table tennis,
etc. The winners of all these events were also awarded on this day. At 4.30 p.m. our principal
delivered the closing speech. He was cheered by the students, staff and parents alike. He
declared holiday on the following day. Finally our annual sports day was concluded with the final
march past. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and returned home with three medals.

PROBLEM IN SCHOOL
Education is the most important factor for the development of human civilization .It is one of the
ways that can help us to achieve our goals in future. However, there have been many problems raised
throughout the year in regarding to what our school system should be practicing to improve
education. These problems consists of self-discipline,longstanding bullying and the case about school
uniforms should be lessen in order to have a positive dispositions on education.

Discipline and balancing is important in a student’s life.Sometimes, the person who has the freedom
to do anything she wants will have the tendency to lose self-discipline and balance between
extracurricular activities and academics. There was a time in my life when I thought I would not be
able to finish high school because I ot distracted by the social life around me.We could only be young
once, as the cliché goes.Indeed I truly lived my teenage life to the fullest, to the point of over-living
it.In fact, I was stillin my early teens when I started going steady with my social life than school. My
mother had a hard time strainghtening my head.

However, the consequences of my actions had sadly taught me a lesson.I failed some of my classes
when I was in freshman. Also, I joined volleyball and cheerleading in my junior year which completely
gave me hard time catching up with our lessons.I was forced to attend the after-school
tutoring.Stumbling upon of having no discipline and balance between school,Sports and social life
are regrettably sad.Yes, I have a lot of learning and acknowledge that school must be prioritized.

Second, bullying has a real negative effect on the victim’s life. Those who are constantly bullied can
be pushed to the breaking point, where they could end up hurting themselves or others. I have a
school mate back when I was senior, and he had trouble coping with things since his parents got
divorced.Over the last few months, he has neglected his school works, and gotten a few face piercing
that were prohibited in our school.A few of his classmates have become hosetil towards him
because of the sudden physical changes, and his lack of social etiquette. The controversy have
suddenly escalated as they have pushed him onto the ground, kicked him in the stomach, and locked
him in bathroom.

Also, a few of the school jocks were standing in the hallway joking around when they spot their
smaller classmate struggling to carry his school books. One of the jocks sticks his foot out and
deliberately tripped the boy. They all laughed and called the boy names such as “clumsy” and
“dork”.Bullies pick on students who they thinkare physically weak and unpopular with their
peers. So, whether bullying comes in many different forms : both from cyber bullying to physical
bullying,it is consider wrong and it has to stop.

Attitude can alter very aspect of a person’s life, including his or her education.Students’s attitude
on learning determine their ability and willingness to learn.Furthermore, it is never too late to
improve our educational system.Every school should be more advance and provide a good learning
environment first because a highly effective school profoundly enchance student’s prosperity.
Adolescent Behavior Essay
Adolescence is a period of psychological and physical passing from childhood to adulthood. “Adolescence is
roughly considered to be the period between 13 and 19 years of age. The adolescent experiences not only
physical growth and change but also emotional, psychological, social, and mental change and growth. During this
period, adolescents are expected to become capable of adult behavior and response.” (Medical Encyclopedia).
This is a difficult period, which results fundamental changes in the structure of personality, behavioral patterns,
habits and life goals. Along with inner changes the person goes through the period of puberty or sexual
development. These changes do not always go smoothly and children have to pass through the crises before
they become grown-ups.Very often specialists talk about the crisis of adolescence. Adolescence behavior is a
subject of special study. Very often problems adolescents face in the process of growing up are complicated by
problems with their parents, friends and at school. So, deviant behavior of adolescents can be cased by family
problems and tensions at home. Violence against others or animals, anti-social behavior, long depressions and
some other symptoms are the signs that indicate that adolescent person is in trouble and needs help or
interference. Such symptoms as hyperactivity problems, learning disorders and volatile temperament can also be
an alarm signals of adolescence crises. During the adolescence period the cases of risk behavior manifestation
are the most frequent. Risk behavior involves such behaviors as drinking, smoking, illegal drug use, and sex and
pregnancy.

Since the problem is identified it’s necessary to find the ways to resolve it. There are several ways to treat
adolescent behavioral disorders. First of all there are group-based methods, where youngsters try to work out
their problems in the company of people who have familiar problems. Group-based options include survival
camps, boot camps. All the treatment process is assisted by professional medical workers, social workers,
psychiatrists, etc. These programs have a lot of advantages and are very useful in treating disorders but there is
one essential disadvantage. Despite all the effort they show comparatively poor success. This can be explained
by the fact that social programs affect only one part of the life of adolescents – social life. At the same time major
parts of the problem, which influence the behavior of adolescents are rooted in their families. So, treatment
programs, which include not only adolescents but also the member of their families, show better results. So,
family-based programs make the second group of treating measures applied for treating adolescents behavioral
disorders. Working with the parents is an affective method to deal with the problems caused by abnormal
adolescent behavior. Unfortunately, very often parents not only don’t give necessary help to their children but
also create additional problems. “Social science research has demonstrated that parental involvement affects
adolescent behavior, primarily through monitoring behavior on the part of parents. Parents who spend more time
supervising their children have children who engage in fewer risky behaviors” (Christopher et al 1993). Other
researches have shown interesting statistics. The quality of relations between mothers and daughters influences
the age girls start sexual intercourse (McNeely et al 2002). Statistic shows that the more active part parents take
in growing up their children the less is probability of behavioral problems during the adolescence period. “The
relationship between parent and child affects adolescent propensity to engage in risk behaviors. There is a clear
negative relationship between a child’s perceptions of parent(s) knowledge about the goings on in his or her life
and engagement in risk activities like smoking marijuana and stealing. And regardless of sex, adolescents are
less likely to engage in risk behaviors, in this case alcohol consumption, if they have a positive relationship with
their parent(s)” (Overturf, 14). Despite parents have an extremely important influence on the life of adolescents,
there are other aspects of life of teenagers which lay aside from family control. Social surrounding, educational
institutions and the place of work, same as friends, also have extremely important influence on the behavior of
adolescence. Multisystemic approach to treating behavioral disorders is applied on several levels and seizes
most aspects of adolescents’ life. In multisystemic programs the treatment involves the work with the family of
adolescent same as his school surrounding, neighborhood, friends and employers. Family relations are still
regarded as dominant force, which shapes out the adolescent’s view of the world and major attention is paid to
this aspect of teenagers’ life. The combination of different kinds of treatment shows the best results in dealing
with deviant adolescent behavior.
Obesity has become a major problem in the UAE. Over 60% of Emirati nationals are
overweight. This is a difficult problem with many serious effects on the individual and country.

Obesity can be divided into three main causes –  diet, lifestyle and education. One of the chief
causes is diet. Young Emiratis eat more and more high-carbohydrate, high-fat burgers and pizza
in fast-food restaurants. However, some traditional foods are also very oily, and because of
increasing affluence are eaten more often than in the past. Lifestyle is a second main cause of
obesity. As a result of cheap foreign labour, many Emiratis now have sedentary jobs, and do not
exercise regularly. However, one of the main causes is lack of education and awareness. The
society’s attitude to food often leads to over-consumption. Parents do not teach good eating
habits to children, and many people lack knowledge about good nutrition or a balanced diet.

Obesity affects the individual and the country. The biggest effect is on the individual. First of all,
being overweight has health risks. Obesity can lead to heart disease, diabetes, and other
conditions. The quality of life suffers, as it is difficult to enjoy exercise or move. Another result is
lack of self-esteem. This can lead to depression, eating disorders and crash diets. The country is
also affected. It becomes very expensive for the government to provide advanced medical care
such as heart transplants. Unhealthy citizens are also less productive. and their children learn
poor eating habits.

Obesity or even being overweight has serious effects on the individual and the society. Both
need to take action to examine the causes of this problem and find solutions.
Essay on Health and Fitness – The Importance of
Good Health

Many people do not realize, and often underestimate, the importance of

good health. Health, as they say, is wealth. Good health is necessary to carry
out daily tasks. When discussing healthy, many people would consider the
condition of their bodies and forget about the condition of their minds.
However, health is not only about alleviating and being free from physical
aspects of health. It also means being healthy in mind too.

An unhealthy mind results in an unhealthy body. Good mental health helps

you to make the most of life and enjoy it. Good mental health offers you a
feeling of well-being and the inner strength needed in times of trouble or
unrest. Everyone knows how to care for their bodies. This is done almost
every day by the majority of people. Exercise and eating the proper foods are
the best ways of keeping the body healthy. But, how does one keep the mind
healthy? A healthy mind requires a lot of work, as well as, a combination of
the right foods and exercise.

Most often, the food consumed has a pivotal effect on the body, as well as,
the mind. A healthy diet consists of the right food groups with right number of
calories. It does not contain an excess of sugar, salt, fat and alcohol.
Selecting the right foods that provide energy helps the body to be healthy.
This also helps the mind. An energized person is a happy person. Happiness is
a state of mind. Without proper energy, a person can become angry, tired and
sad. These are not good for the mind.

Exercise is extremely important to staying healthy both in body and mind.

Being active can help a person continue to do things they enjoy and be
independent as they age. Long term physical activity increases the benefits of
long-term health. This is the reason many health experts advise individuals to
be as active as possible and to set aside at least three days a week for some
form of activity that keeps the heart beating at a steady pace. Physical
exercise also has many mental benefits. For example, a person diagnosed
with depression or anxiety is most often asked to conduct some form of
physical activity apart from taking medication. This is because, the body
produces hormones known as endorphins which improve mood and relieve
stress. Depression can be alleviated by improving mood and anxiety can be
relieved by reducing stress.

Another method of keeping the mind healthy is to exercise it as often as

possible. Just as physical exercise is good for the body, so is mental exercise
for the mind. There are numerous ways to ensure a healthy mind through
activity. For example, doing cross word puzzles, calculating sums in the head,
learning a new word every day etc. can be extremely beneficial for the mind.
This form of mental exercise is not only for the elderly. It is for all individuals
who wish to keep their minds healthy.

Very few individuals take the time to care for themselves with busy
lifestyles and schedules. However, taking care of yourself is the best way of
ensuring you live a long healthy life, not only physically, but also mentally.

Earthquakes can have disastrous effects on humans and on the environment. An

earthquake is the result of trembling, rolling and vibration of the ground triggered by the
sudden release of energy that is stored below the surface of the Earth (Ford 2004). A
scientific instrument called a seismometer is used by scientists to record, and measure
strengthens of earthquakes (McNally 2007). The intensity or the size of an earthquake is
measured by a number called the magnitude. Actually, earthquakes occur in everyday
and everywhere and as a result, the estimate by scientists for each day is that more than
thousands minor earthquakes happen without triggering any physical damage and
mostly they are imperceptible. Earthquakes frequently occur in the following countries:
China, Indonesia, Pakistan, Iran, United States, Japan, and the Philippines. In these
regions there are a lot of earthquakes and also they have numerous volcanoes. There
are three main causes of earthquakes: tectonic plate movement, human activities, and
volcanic eruptions.
Earthquakes destroy property and cause death. On July 28, 1976, there was a 7.8
magnitude earthquake in the city of Tangshan (Rosenberg 1997). The strength of the
earthquake was recorded by a scientific instrument called a seismometer, also known as
a seismograph. It is an instrument that can detect and measure the ground motion from
an earthquake (McNally 2007). At 0342 local time, the earthquake hit Tangshan and
over a million of people were sleeping. As a result, hundreds of thousands of people
were killed and many people were reported missing and presumed dead. There were a
lot of people were badly injured. Tangshan is located in Northeastern China Œan area
devastated by earthquakes. The earthquake was so strong that it triggered infrastructure
collapse including houses, schools, shops, heath clinics, roads, railway station, factories,
and bridges. The people in Beijing also felt the tremors. A lot of people lost their lives
because most their houses were completely destroyed. The city of Tangshan is being
rebuilt nowadays by its citizens.
Another contributing factor to earthquakes is human activities. There are many human
activities that cause an earthquake. Building skyscrapers is a good example that may
cause an earthquake. Many engineers and scientists are concerned about the types of
buildings in construction. Skyscraper Taipei 101 with the height of 508 meters which is
the world's tallest building. According to the geologist Cheng Horng Ling (2005), from the
National Taiwan Normal University, Taipei 101 may cause an earthquake because the
101-storey skyscraper is built the stress on an earthquake fault. An ancient earthquake
fault may reopen as the stress from the buildings exerting on the ground increases.
Besides that, the injection of fluids in the mountain or into the crust of the earth also
triggers earthquakes. A long time ago, the main purpose of humans injecting fluid was
that the injection was the best way to dispose of toxic waste. For example, in the Rocky
Mountains where there is a place for waste disposal. (Madrigal, A 2008) The injection of
fluids into deep wells causes changing of the stress of the underground and the stress
can generate an earthquake. Furthermore, the release of pressure when extracting oil
and natural gas can also cause earthquake.
Having looked at the causes of earthquakes, its main effects will be discussed in the
following. The effects can be in terms of social, environmental and economic. An
earthquake can bring great impacts to the society. It is an unbearable scene as people
die in the aftermath of earthquakes and leaving their love one to suffer from their death.
Some of natural disasters like tsunamis and landslides can be triggered by earthquakes.
Earthquakes can also have disastrous effect to the country's economyThere are also
environmental impacts. A tsunami, for instance, is produced by an earthquake.
Tsunamis are tidal waves that are caused by the sudden movement of plates under the
sea floor during an underwater earthquake. (What are effects of earthquakes? n.d.) This
wave can move swiftly a long way across the ocean. (Effects of earthquakes n.d.) When
a large scale of tsunami hits the seashore area, it can trigger enormous erosion as well
as destroy buildings in its path. Worst of all, people will also be washed away by the
tsunami. For example, on December 26, 2004, a tsunami hit some nations around the
Indian Ocean and caused hundreds of thousands of deaths. Earthquakes can cause
landslides. It is very dangerous especially for buildings in unstable area on hillsides or
mountains where soft soils can be liquefied by the tremors of earthquakes. During an
earthquake, buildings can fall down hills with soil and bury people under the soil. People
will be buried alive. In addition, aftershocks are also effects of earthquakes. Aftershocks
are small tremors which disperse it to other places and other people can feel it after the
main shocks of an earthquake. For instance, in Penang, Malaysia, there are no
earthquakes, but when an earthquake happened in Sumatra it was so great that even
Malaysians living in Penang experienced aftershocks. (See 2006)
Apart from social and environmental impacts, earthquakes also have negative
effects on a nation's economy. Governments have to be responsible for the damage
caused by earthquakes. As we can see, earthquakes cause infrastructures to collapse,
reservoirs dams, shops, and hospitals are devastated after an earthquake. (Earthquake
n.d.) Governments have to spend sizeable amounts of money to rebuild the place.
Earthquakes also cause spending of the capital to distribute food and medicine to
victims. Markets in particular may be disrupted and this causes uneasy trade.
Furthermore, investors whose money is in that particular area for development may
decide to withdraw. Once the investors withdraw the investment in the particular country,
it will a cause loss of job opportunities as well as the country's income diminishing and
an unstable of economy
In conclusion, earthquakes are hard to predict and can happen any time. Tectonics
plate movement, human activities and volcanic eruptions are 3 of the causes of
earthquakes, whose effects can be felt socially, environmentally, and economically. As
we can see, prevention of earthquakes is absolutely impossible, so, suitable action to
reduce injury and death is of uttermost importance. Some safety action should take
place, such as evacuation and safety build structures to resist earthquakes. Some
countries, such as the United States and Japan carried out research about public
buildings designed to resist earthquakes. (Moleworth 2008) The results are that the
whole building will move to and fro without trembling. It is very important to have this
facility in earthquakes zones as damage and lives are at risk.

The Cause and Effect of Floods

      Floods are caused by many things. Many times it rains too much, other times a dam breaks;
however, the effects of floods devastating. Floods can cause environmental losses as well and
economical losses, land is washed away, homes are ruined, and people sometimes even die. This
essay is about the causes and effects that flood have on our world.

Floods are caused by many things. One cause of a flood is when water exceeds the capacity of the
area it is in; thus causing it to overflow outside the waters boundary. Another cause is the amount
of rain that a certain area of land gets. When too much water has rained over a certain area,
sewers start getting flooded, creating a backup and water starts to flow on streets. One more way
of flooding is when dams break. Massive dams that hold water back prevent flooding. When the
gate breaks, the water flows out of it and creates a flood.

Climates and environments have a lot to do with flooding also. A higher altitude might be
exposed to more rain than a lower altitude. Also a damper, wetter climate creates it more
susceptible for rain, which causes it to flood (flash flood) more frequently than a hot and dry
climate. Hurricanes also effect floods to. When a hurricane reaches land, there is an enormous
amount of water that is carried along with it. This water dumped on land and as water levels rise,
flooding is created.

The effects of floods are devastating. Many times floods can destroy everything. Houses can be
torn off their foundation because the water has made its structure weaker, tar can be been pulled
off road causing major pot holes, earth can be sunken in creating a different landscape, tons of
trees have the possibility of being ripped out. To see the effects after a flood is not a pretty site.
Water has to be pumped out of flooded civilian areas.

Another thing that floods effect is the environmental and economical situations. When floods
occur, there is a large amount of water that runs over the ground. Loose soil, rocks, and
landscape can be dramatically altered, leaving behind a rugged, changed terrain. Loose soil can
create mud slides, which create hazardous situations for living things nearby. The economy after
the flood can be one of the greatest effected. Billions of dollars have been donated by a countries
government to rebuild and payback what was lost. Many times these things include houses,
roads, buildings, cars, schools, etc.  Another thing that people loose in the event of floods is their
jobs; consequently, after water damaging buildings and such, businesses can be run down,
bankrupt and even, in existent. This causes lots of people to be jobless, which in effect, creates no
way of paying for daily needs.
During floods, humans can lose so much. One of the most dangerous things a person could
lose would be their life. If a person gets caught in a flood and is swept away, they have the risk of
drowning in the water. Many times people die not only from the flood itself; but the effects after
the flood such as starvation, hazardous objects floating in the water, and much more. Because of
the water, it is harder for medical services to help civilians. The people rely on the aid workers to
bring refugees food; consequently, if the aid workers have a hard time getting through the water,
many families starve to death.

Floods are part of everyday lives. They are caused by too much rain, hurricanes, breaking of
dams, etc. Many times the effects are devastating. The environment and economy are destroyed,
land is washed away, houses are destroyed, and peoples lives are changed forever.

Pollution
Pollution is an issue of concern in the modern world that we live in today. There are many types of
pollution, namely air, water and noise. Pollution in our environment will undoubtedly affect our quality of
life. Our naturally beautiful world becoming ugly because it is suffering from the effects of environmental
pollution. Pollution can also cause various health problems and other negative effects.

Air pollution is caused by the emission of toxic gases from vehicles, factories and open burning.
Nowadays, there are more and more vehicles on the road as society gets more affluent. More and more
people strive to have a better quality of life by having the convenience of driving to their destinations
instead of taking public transportation. Automobiles provides transport to millions people around the
world to enable them to travel to their workplace, school and other places, therefore, the air around us
is getting more polluted by the carbon dioxide that is emitted. Carbon monoxide is another type of gas
which harmful to the environment as it can cause the reduction of oxygen in the bloodstream.

Another example of contributor to the air pollution is the manufacturing factories. The manufacturing
of products in factories to meet the growing demand of society is also causing air pollution. Factories
release toxic gases to the environment. Some factories also use coal to generate heat and energy. As a
result from the burning of coal, carbon dioxide is released into the environment.

Besides factories, many people are still practising open burning as a way of disposing their
household wastes. Although burning our household wastes is a convenient way of getting rid of our
rubbish, it is harmful to the environment as it contributes to the worsening of the air quality. As a result,
air pollution causes people to suffer from health problems such as chest pain and asthma. In extreme
cases, people can contract lung cancer.

Water pollution is also a problem that we are currently facing. The marine life is the first to
suffer from water pollution as they depend on the nutrients in the water to survive. As a result, we are
robbed of beautiful sea corals and unique species of fishes. Besides ruining our marine heritage, the
disappearance of marine life will affect the livelihood of fishermen, not to mention our source of food.
Water pollution is caused by harmful waster from industries, farms and sewerage systems which are
dumped into our sources of water such as rivers and lakes. This irresponsible act contaminates our
drinking water and can cause serious health problems and can even culminate in death.

Noise pollution is another form of pollution. Noise from heavy machinery and vehicles can cause
hearing problems and in extreme cases, deafness. As there is growing number of vehicles on the road,
we are exposed to noise pollution every day. The government in advanced countries encourage their
citizens to take the public buses and trains by providing an affordable and efficient transportation
system. This effort discourages people from driving their private vehicles and consequently reduces the
number of vehicles on the road.

We must work together to reduce pollution so that the future generations can live in a healthy,
unpolluted environment. As the saying goes, precaution is better than cure. Lets hands on hands
together by recycle and conserve the world for the better future.
Deforestation is the rapid loss of forests by cutting plants regularly without replanting. It is
endangering the wildlife, human health and environment. Increasing human population,
increasing crowd, increasing competition in the world force human being to cut the forests and
establish well developed cities or farms or land for harvesting. In such a competitive world, every
nation want to overlap other developed and advanced countries to go ahead and make them
powerful. People are in need to cut the forests to make houses, parks, multiplexes, industries,
public infrastructure, paper production, fuel, etc. Some greedy people are cutting forests for
earning more money by selling woods and increasing the danger to the wildlife and human life.

Wild animals are migrating and dying, original flora and fauna are lasting, environment is
changing negatively and disturbing the human life. Natural habitat of the most important animals
is destroying because of this some are migrating to other areas or entering to the human areas
or dying. We need to preserve trees by stopping the forest cutting or replanting the plants in
order to save the animal sanctuary and maintaining the natural cycles of the environment to save
the life here in future. Preservation of forests is also necessary to get fresh and healthy oxygen
as well as reducing the amount of carbon dioxide gas.

Deforestation lead to increasing air pollution, increasing level of poisonous gases in the
environment, increasing soil and water pollution, increasing environmental heat, and many more.
All the negative effects of deforestation cause many health disorders and most importantly lungs
and respiratory problems.
