Collective Unconscious – help shape attitudes, behaviors and dreams
o inherited from ancestors – carried over to us

Personal Unconscious – repressed experiences of one particular individual and is the
reservoir (tank) of the complexes
Archetypes – contents of the collective unconscious; universal
o Persona – the side of the personality that we show to the rest of the world;
social role or mask; responsibility (students/child)
Psyche – all psychological processes; both conscious and unconscious
Libido – something that push you forward; life; striving; desiring
Ego – conscious perception of self, also paired with unconscious
Introversion – when he is with himself; does not mean alone
Extraversion – with others; responsibility given to him

o Self – unity of personality; completeness; wholeness; perfection
o Great mother – good and bad mother; fertility and destruction
good – loving
bad – mental attack of Jung's mother
fertility – sign/symbol of nurture; provider
destruction – harming you; rejecting; ignoring
o Wise old man – spiritual father; deceptive voice; matured filled with wisdom
o Hero – conqueror of enemies and evil forces; conquers and evil foe but also has
a tragic flaw; helped by an expert/therapist; having that desire to help others

our future
Inferiority – negative; deficiencies; lack the tools to educated/communicate
Social interest – concerned with people; judged; nurtured and cultivated; should not
neglect family
Final Goal – individual's actions, decisions are governed by goals
Hereditary – raw materials – genetic characteristics – we need to utilize to build
personality
Style of Life – you choose what style of life
Safeguarding tendencies – to protect inflated feeling of superiority

Neurosis – leading on the road to psychosis
Masculine Protest – men are superior to women; anyone has this
Birth Order – order to know the problems of the child; has characteristics that can tell

power; easily discouraged

Inferiority Complex
o Compensation - psychologically/academically disadvantage; no facilities;
compensating to other activities
o Resignation – completely withdrawing; give up
o Overcompensation – neurotics; overindulge
Organ dialect – body will response; magsakit because the body is really
tired

Mistaken SOL
o Ruling type – ikaw ang masunod; aggressive; dominating
o Getting type – dependent; parasite
o Avoiding type – escaping self
Socially useful type – great deal of social interest
Family constellation – ask about the family constellation
Self-centered SOL – hostility and resentment; ikaw lang jud
