The Need of Public Wi-Fi

Public Wi-Fi should be present in public. Nowadays, the internet accessibility is no longer a
privilege, but a right. BBC News Network has conducted a poll regarding this issue in late March of
2010. Over 50% of Americans say that access to the internet should be a right. I am here to stress
that public Wi-Fi has much more benefits than limitations. Many of us own home computers and
smartphones, but only minority have 24/7 access to the internet since it is not affordable to some
people. We may have Wi-Fi at home but imagine if someone is away from home and need to send or
receive important files regarding their job immediately in form of e-mail or trough social media, it is
impossible to do so without internet. Public Wi-Fi will overcome this problem. One can easily drop
by a convenient spot in the city to finish their job.

If Wi-Fi is publicly available in a person's city, this will become reality. In this case, a drastic
change must be done. There are some people out there who cannot afford Wi-Fi in their respective
homes and some who doesn't have proper knowledge of setting Wi-Fi themselves. These groups of
people must not be forgotten. Lack of internet access may lead to bigger problem in the future since
internet now has become an essential. Thus, public Wi-Fi will be a good solution to overcome those
problems. Public Wi-Fi should be installed in each of the cities around the world. By doing this, each
of us can obtain knowledge of the amazing internet. Installing public Wi-Fi will surely change the
world.

People who think this is a bad idea say 3G/4G companies will go out of business. Actually,
there are very few jobs in the 3G/4G network anyways. The people who are in a there though, will
be transferred to companies to make routers and other gadgets to aid in the citywide Wi-Fi. People
also say Free public Wi-Fi leaves us at risk for hackers and identity thieves. It is also very simple to set
a lock on the Wi-Fi, while the password would be still very easy to obtain. This gives us free and safe
internet browsing for people. Nobody said that we have to use only the city's Wi-Fi. We will be
permitted to use our own Wi-Fi if we don't want to use the city's Wi-Fi. Soon the people in India will
be able to watch their favourite movie or listen to live streaming music on their phones and tablets
even if they do not have a 3G or 4G connection. The Government of India is embarking on an
initiative to enable Wi-Fi services in public areas in cities with a population of more than 1 million.

Wi-Fi user is incredibly increasing day by day around the world. Students, especially in high
schools or universities often use Wi-Fi in their homework. Most of the adults use Wi-Fi in their jobs,
since numerous information could be obtained through internet. With free public Wi-Fi, they can
work at all times, anywhere. Free public Wi-Fi is a positive thing because some students may need to
work on a project, and what if they are at a restaurant or park and need to do research? They could
be even in the car! In order to help the students, free Wi-Fi would do. Wi-Fi plays important role in
keeping everyone in touch. People can easily contact people when in need for a ride or help. This
also can help a person when he or she is in trouble and out of prepaid. To tie all things up, Wi-Fi is
very useful to ease daily task. 
 Wi-Fi can be a medium for us to release stress. One might have stress and got no time to do
stress relieving activity such as going to park or short vacation. The internet is a great place of leisure
and fun. With Wi-Fi, we can read books, listen to songs, watch movies and even play games!  Stress
can be relieved instantly anywhere, anytime. Everyone uses internet nowadays, so public Wi-Fi
would be a great idea. Cities of even villages should have public Wi-Fi because internet is a good
source to use and not all of us can access it. We have to either pay the bill or go to a friend's house.
It's also a good way for cities to attract tourists, businesses and market themselves. Everything
nowadays is computerized. It’s hard using tablet, computer or any electronics without Wi-Fi. Also,
most jobs and schools required some use of computer. Even schools hardly use paper anymore! And
a lot of people cannot afford Wi-Fi so, I think having free public Wi-Fi in cities would be a very big
help to everyone.
