I’m Glad I’m Me

By Jack Prelutsky
No one looks
The way I do.
I have noticed
That it’s true.
No one walks the way I walk.
No one talks the way I talk.
No one plays the way I play.
No one says the things I say.
I am special.
I am me.
There’s no one else
I’d rather be!

I’ve Got Two Ears

By Sesame Street

I've got two eyes, one, two

They're both the same size, one, two
I've got two eyes...and they're both the same size.

I've got two ears, one, two

They help me hear, one , two
I've got two ears, they help me hear
I've got two eyes...and they're both the same size

Two arms have I, one, two

I can hold them up high, one, two
Two arms have I, I can hold them up high
I've got two ears, they help me hear
I've got two eyes...and they're both the same size

Two hands have I, one, two

They can wave goodbye, one, two
Two hands have I, they can wave goodbye
Two arms have I, I can hold them up high
I've got two ears, they help me hear
I've got two eyes...and they're both the same size

A Foolish Cow
By Jack Prelutsky

A foolish cow, declining greens,

Ate jumping and vanilla beans.
Now she quivers, now she quakes,
Now she gives vanilla shakes.

Winter Time
by Mary Ryer

Icy fingers, icy toes,

Bright red cheeks and bright red nose.
Watch the snowflakes as they fall,
Try so hard to count them all.
Build a snowman way up high,
See if he can touch the sky.
Snow forts, snowballs, sledding, too,
In the snow, so white and new.
Slip and slide and skate so fast.
Wintertime is here at last.

On Martin Luther King Day

By Sharon Siegeleman

Treat people kindly.

Do what is fair.
Work for all people.
Show that you care.

Changing what is wrong,

But please do not fight.
Think of new ways
To change wrong into right.

These are the ways

If we work as a team
To remember the man
Who said, “I have a dream.”

Hibernation
by Unknown Teacher

Bear is sleeping, bear is sleeping

In the cave, In the cave.
I wonder when he'll come out. I wonder when he'll come out.
In the spring, In the spring.

Birds are flying, birds are flying

In the sky, in the sky.
I wonder when they'll come back, I wonder when they'll come back,
In the spring, in the spring.

Raindrops

By Helen H. Moore

Rain
drops
drip
Down
all
Day
long.

Drip down
Slip Down
Splashing out their song.

Thunder-crashing
Splishing
Splashing
slipping
Dripping

Raining down
Their rainy
raindrop
Song.

Spring

What springs in spring?

Buds spring!
Leaves spring!
Flowers spring!
Trees spring!
Grass springs!
Robins sing in spring.

The Butterfly

Butterfly,
Butterfly,
Life’s a
Dream;
All that we
See,
And all that we seem,

Here for a
Jiffy
And then
Goodbye ---

Butterfly
Butterfly
Flutter
On by.
