PROPOSAL

In this era of technology and advancement, having the programming skills can allow one to grasp
the opportunities available in the work industries. Today, almost every business has a
requirement for a programmer to keep their software and systems up to date. With the
certification in the programming and software development services, one can take the advantage
of job market that provides high growth prospects in Information Technology sector.
As is known, there is no devoted course to coding and programming at Northern Lights College.
So, this is limiting the growing and learning aspects for the students. We need some program
where the learners can enroll themselves, gain expertise in the respective subject and take
advantage of having the most demanded skills of all times.
So, starting this certification program will be apt for the need. There will be three different levels
(beginner, intermediate and advance) of training provided to the students depending on the prior
knowledge about the subject. It would mainly focus on 3 languages for the initial stage of the
project. This program will be open to learners from all backgrounds rather than being restricted
only to the computer students. All the training sessions will include teaching the concepts of
programming languages and then implementing it practically in labs. More features will include
– online tutor help, uploading of lectures on D2L, competitions and the chance to earn while they
learn (exclusive to advance level). This program will attract a greater number of students in the
upcoming years making it an advantage for the college.
