1.3. Documents to be furnished ( TCs for Sr.No. 1.3.4 to 1.3.7 should not be
more than 5 years old.)
1.3.1. Certificate of Dynamic balancing of rotor of each motor (Balancing
Grade Gr2.5)
1.3.2. Tan test on coils
1.3.3. Inspection report of rotor & stator stampings
1.3.4. Type Test reports of similar rating of motor witnessed by some other
customer.
1.3.5. Certificate for Degree of protection form Govt. approved laboratory /
test house
1.3.6. Certificate for Terminal box fault level withstand test from Govt.
approved laboratory / test house
1.3.7. Certificate for Flameproof / Explosion proof / Increased safety motors
from Govt. approved laboratory / test house, as applicable

2. LT Motors

2.1. Routine Tests

2.1.1. Visual and Dimensional checks (Frame, Location of TB, Fitment


of Accessories, etc.)
2.1.2. Measurement of winding resistance in cold condition & Resistance of
RTDs / BTDs / Space heaters, as applicable.
2.1.3. No load running of motor at rated voltage and readings of voltage,
current and power are to be taken
2.1.4. Locked rotor readings of voltage, current and power input at a suitable
reduced voltage
2.1.5. Reduced voltage running up test at no load to check the ability of motor
to run up to full speed (with 0.577 of rated voltage).
2.1.6. Open circuit voltage ratio of stator and rotor windings for slip ring
motors only.
2.1.7. Insulation Resistance Test before and after High Voltage Test
2.1.8. High Voltage Test and leakage current measurement
2.1.9. Vibration measurement (Value should < 25 P – P or as specified).
2.1.10. Measurement Noise level at 1 m distance with back ground correction
(Value should be less than 85dB(A) or as specified ).
2.1.11. No load running of the motor till bearing temperature stabilizes, if
BTDs are provided

2.2. Type Tests ( Type Tests on each rating and Type shall be carried out on
motors, if specified in contract / specs.)
2.2.1. No load running test at rated condition & at various voltages and
plotting of No load curve for segregation of losses & for JEC- 37
method
2.2.2. Locked rotor test for starting characteristics at 100 % FLC by direct
loading method
2.2.3. Load test at various load points by direct loading method to calculate
performance parameters viz. Efficiency, PF, Slip, Current etc. at ¼, ½,
¾, 4/4, 5/4 load points.
2.2.4. Temperature rise test by direct / indirect loading method.
Temperature rise of bearing should not exceed 40 Deg. C above
design ambient.
