Dear HR,

I’m excited at being presented with an opportunity to apply for an internship at your
firm.

An economist can add great value to your firm, I assure you. I have recently
graduated with Economics Honours from one of the most prestigious Universities
in India - Jadavpur University (ranked 6th amongst the universities in India by
NIRF, MHRD, Govt. of India). I have a graduate CGPA of 9.16/10 which keeps me
amongst the top 5 of my class. For my higher studies, I aim to focus on Economics
and market research.

My extracurricular interests include debating and playing violin(passed Grade 3

under Royal School of Music, London). I have also converted my hobby of graphic
designing into an independent online business. My multi tasking ability has enabled
me to not only design and sell my own products, interact with the customers and
market my products online, but have also learnt to manage the finances. This has
developed my ability to interact with stakeholders and successfully close a deal. My
determined time management skills have helped me run my online business as well
as put my best effort in all the weekly internals in college and remain within the top
5 of my class. The online business has enabled me to gather knowledge about the
consumer business scenario in today’s economy. One thing that I have learnt through
this experience is that, ‘Client is King.’

From an internship at your firm I expect o get the much needed glimpse of a variety
of fields under the same umbrella that will allow me to apply my economic
knowledge and technical skills together. This will arm me with relevant work
experience and the job exposure that I have been looking for.

I stood third and first in presenting a lecture on an Economics topic in Young

Economist Students Meet 2017 and 2018 respectively. This of course has helped me
polish my oratory and presentation skills. I have been the team leader of a survey on
‘Financial Inclusion of Financial institutions’ at Jadavpur University. I have also
worked on two other projects, ‘Pattern of Public Expenditure and Administration’ in
India and ‘Convertibility of Indian Rupee’. I have been the Event Coordinator of
Young Economist Students Meet 2019 . I have been awarded as one of the top 10
winners in a stock market analysis event held by Global Applied Financial Analyst
(GAFA).

I have experience in content writing at Rantman media. I would like to further

explore content creation at your firm if given the chance. But I’m mainly interested
in market research and brand management and would be willing to explore it
through an internship.

I’m applying for a winter internship from December to January. If it is an

inconvenience for the HR team, then I’m also available for a summer internship in
May and June, 2020.

I would like to request the HR team to kindly consider my application as this would
be a learning opportunity of a lifetime. I will be eagerly waiting for a response and
if selected I will leave no stone unturned to positively add to your firm. I aim to
utilize the skills I learn from this internship into building a bigger and better future
for myself. An internship at your firm would help me take my first big step of my
career.
