India Today plans to adopt the highly successful formula used by the Daily Mailin targeting

middle class women readers.

Purie said women’s content was an area not covered by existing Indian newspapers and Mail

Today would have it as a “differentiating factor.”

The nearly century old Daily Mail, the second largest selling daily in Britain after the Sun,

was the first paper to have a women’s page and position itself as a middle class publication,

embracing such themes as family values.

Mail Today’s editor Bharat Bhushan said the paper’s content would stress taking a stand and
highlight people who believed in “raising their voices for the good of society.”

The statement gave no ownership details but there is a limit of 26% foreign ownership in the

print media.

CHAPTER – 4
Introduction:-

The study of research methodology gives the necessary training in gathering material and

arranging or card-indexing them, participation in the field work when required, and also

training in techniques for the collection of data appropriate to, particular problems, in the use

of statistics, questionnaires and control experimentation and in recording evidence, sorting it

out and interpreting it.

4.1 Statement of research problem

Data Collection:-

Data in the sense contact name, number, address of mass number of person whom we can

contact and sale our product. To do a research on any specific topic one should understanding

the problem thoroughly, and rephrasing the same into meaningful terms and analytical point

of view. Firstly, I understand the problem to discuss it with one’ my own colleagues then I

discuss it with some expertise in these matters. We have to go into the market to meet our

customer personally and ask them to give detailed information that we require. It’s depending

upon them whether they are interested to do so or not. It’s time consuming as well money

consuming process. After collecting these data we have to contact them and ask them to buy

the product which is going to offer them. When we have data in our hand it’s easy to do our

task.

4.2 Statement of Research Objective:-

4.3 Research Design and Methodology:-

Research Design :-

A Research design is the arrangement of conditions for collection and analysis of in a manner

and aims to combine relevance to the research purpose with economy in procedure. In fact

the research design is the conceptual structure within which research I conducted. Research is

needed because it facilitates the smooth sailing of the various research operations thereby

making research as efficient as possible yielding maximum information with minimal

expenditure of effort, time and money. Since the aim is to obtain the accurate information

about the customer in terms of his interest towards investment in stock sector. I have used the

techniques of questioning customer in order to know their consumer behaviour, their

interest ,their needs and etc.

It is very important for the sales executive to study the mind of the customer so that the

personal visit would not be a waste of time, money and efforts.

Research Methodology:-

Research methodology is way to systematically solve the research problem. It may be

understood as a science of studying how research is done scientifically. In it we study the

various steps that are generally adopted by a researcher in studying in research his research

problem along with logic behind him. Why a research study has been undertaken, how a

research problem has been define in what way and why the hypothesis has been formulated,

what data have been collected and what particular method has been adopted, why particular
technique of analyzing data has been used and a host of similar other question are usually

answered when we talk of research methodology concerning a research problem or study.

CHAPTER – 6
5.1 Summary of Learning Experience:-

Market” plays an important role in everybody’s life directly or indirectly. Somewhere down

the line it affects the life of everyone, no matter how insignificant the person may be. I came

to know about it only when I faced the real market and interacted with the actual customers.

It has been a good learning experience and the market taught a lot of things which I never

thought of. The awareness level of people about news paper.

The working experience at Mail Today was mixed. As mentioned in profile I had to

contact raw prospects then making them aware of my organization and products. Sometimes

they were interested sometimes they weren’t. But one thing I got at every single time, and

that was confidence and the number of queries. Those queries prepared me better for the next

times. As I monitored, there were many clients who used to rely more on the salesman rather

than the company. While marketing the product, I also came in contact with several people

who wish to have some brand name associated with their investment which made our job a

bit easier.

Hence, it could be concluded that future of this industry is bright and proper knowledge in

this particular field may help one to explore new heights in his career.
5.2 Conclusions and Recommendations:-

1. The company must enhance the knowledge of people about their products i.e. they

should do proper marketing of their products as well as their brand, just like their

competitors are doing. For example, Mid Day, Hindustan Times, Times of India Etc.

2. The Company must also increase their pace to spread their distribution channel of

vendor.

3. The company must provide a wider range service to the customers.

4. The positioning of their products must be based on their products, rather than their

customer segmentation.

5. Better marketing executives are required, so that the awareness can be increased

among corporate.

6. Better follow up activity is required to tap the potential customers.
