Activities (Actividades): Activity 1: ¨Introducing the topics¨
General explanation about the different topics to work during this week. To start the class, the
teacher is going to do a general overview about the most important aspects about the simple present
tense. As students were previously assigned to develop an activity about prepositions, the teacher
will revise it and start giving them feedback (20 minutes). Afterwards, the teacher will ask the
students to get in front of the board and solve the previous activity given by the in-service teacher
(20 minutes).

Activity 2:
“Teaching third person rules”
For starting the lesson, the teacher will give students a reading in which they will find examples of
the different third person rules. In the reading the verbs of the third person will be highlighted for
students to recognize them easily (20 minutes). After finishing the reading, the teacher will ask
students about the highlighted words. He will ask them “Why do these verbs change? Why do some
of them have a ‘s’ at the end? Why do some of them have an ‘es’ at the end?”(5 minutes) After
making students aware of the changes in the verbs, the teacher will explain to them the third person
rules(20 minutes). Finally, students will complete a worksheet for reinforcing the rules (10
minutes).

Activity 3: “Making questions”, to develop the second activity, the students will be asked to place
the seats in certain way they face each other making a circle. The questions for the activity will be
written on the board (Do you do sports? Who are you? What is your nationality? What do you do in
your free time?) Each student will have to ask to their classmates the four questions set on the board
and then he/she has to move to the right every five minutes (50 minutes).

making them recall about them, since they will need them for developing the second activity which
is a competition (15 minutes). Teacher will divide the group in two, and he will write on the board a
series of sentences where will be missing the verb (10 minutes). Students from each group will have
to complete them with the correct third person rule (25 minutes). At the end of the competition the
whole group and the teacher will review the rules (5 minutes).
