Project Title Isolated

Section 1: Rationale (Approx 100 words)

Over this past year I have become more confident with filming and editing, greatly
improving the quality of my work as the year has progressed. Experimenting with
different effects in Premiere made me more confident in my editing abilities and
opened a way to further improve my videos. I am better at operating both DSLR and
XA25 because the filming was outside of college so did the filming by myself.

At the beginning of the year I knew an average amount of skills for editing and filming
and now at the end of the year, I can clearly see how my skills have improved.

Section 2: Project Concept (approx 200 words)

The concept for my project is about someone stuck in isolation. It will tie into the
transition theme by it being the transition of time, from day one to finally being allowed
to leave, this passing of time will be shown in the form of a montage, which allows me
to get creative with shot transitions.

A large amount of western population are currently being quarantined in their homes,
and due to the access of social media, it will be easy to find who enjoys being stuck at
home, who’s being bored and what people are doing to pass the time when they can’t
work or go to school. Since college is being closed, I will also have first-hand
experience of what it is like to be isolated.

Because the video is about someone being isolated, there only needs to be one
location, inside a house. Luckily, I live in a house so will always have access to the
filming location.
Section 3: Evaluation Methods (approx 50 words)
I will update my Weebly site every week with an evaluation and reflection on what I
have achieved during the week. The final evaluation will also be written on my Weebly
site where I will reflect on the project as a whole.

Proposed Research Sources and Bibliography (Harvard Format)

The research will primarily be done online, as it offers the largest source of information
and I can access it anytime. I will also ask people, both online and in person for
primary research.
