What I learn on Procurement and Global Sourcing is the proper

sourcing of suppliers, on how to pick each supplier knowing what are the
variables on picking the perfect supplier for the goods, and having the good
relationship with the supplier. In the process of sourcing the supplies needed
in an organization, I learn that there are different ups and downs in supplier
selection like in for example if you are going to source an item if it is outside
the country or local supplier. If you are going to source an item abroad you
must be familiarize on the variables like the capacity the availability of the
item has a large number of stocks and also having the different variety of
supplier you have more options to choose who will be the supplier, and the
same time price of the unit is low, but there are cut backs like longer lead
time, higher risk for the supplies, the cost of transportation is high as well as
the inventory cost and lastly the supplier relationship will less focus on. In
sourcing locally, the variables are shorter lead time, having good relationship
to the supplier because you can talk in person more often, the risk of
supplies is low, transportation cost is low as well as the inventory cost, but
the draw backs are the capacity and variety is pretty low, and the unit is
much more expensive.

In my daily activity I can apply what I learned like for example in

choosing an item, I can canvas in the different stores to know what are the
price and the quality of each item I needed. I can compare the different
stores and knowing the draw backs, from there I can choose properly on
what store I can buy that item. I can also look online see what is the
difference on buying locally and in abroad, I can compare the price and have
that as my reference on buying here locally since I’m still a student I can’t
order online because of the mode of payment, and the cost of transportation
is expensive for and it will be a waste if I am just going to buy one or two
item not in bulk. In my future corporate work, I can apply these on choosing
the best supplier for my company.

The most thankful for this subject is that, I can learn so many things
on my future work, and also thanking my professor for doing the effort of
teaching us her experience on the field of supply chain, without our
professor I can’t just learn from own I will not understand the system of how
the supply chain work. I am also thankful for my classmates because from
them I can also learn things related to the subject. I just want to say
thankful for the knowledge I receive each meeting, I may be sleepy and
tired because of the time, but still I am learning a lot. The most thankful for this subject is that, I can learn so many things on my future work, and also thanking my professor for doing the

effort of teaching us her experience on the field of supply chain, without our professor I can’t just learn from own I will not understand the system of how the supply chain work. I am also thankful for my classmates because from them I can also learn things related to the subject. I just want to say thankful for the knowledge I receive each meeting, I may be sleepy and tired because of the time, but still I am learning a lot.
