A. What happens in the text? What is it about?

Answ//: The text is based on the idea of leaving the house, specifically when it comes to adolescents and the different
circumstances for which many make this decision, among them may be problems in the home or even the decision to
start forming their own lives, In addition to this, the risks they face and the conditions in some countries where they are
looking for a suitable job, also the different perceptions of two different types of people.

B. Why is it happening?

Answ//: The short answer is because adolescents tend to start dreaming from this stage, and the long answer is that from
the moment you go from being a child to an almost young adult, you begin to show interest in looking at new horizons
and achieving own independence, with the wrong idea to be totally free and often forget the responsibility to be.

C. What is the context?

Answ//: In a purely social context, a world that implies different social pressures, the moment in which many young
people wonder about what they will decide to do in their lives, within a society with norms and ethics in the middle of the
20th century that puts between the sword and the wall to those who do not even know how they are going to contribute
to society.

D. Who is the text talking about?

Answ//: Specifically, young people and adolescents who tend to be inclined to leave or stay home.

MAIN IDEAS OF THE TEXT

1. Almost every 16-year old has thought about leaving home.

2. Leaving home is part of the process of growing up.
3.Every year, thousands of young people in Britain leave home in search of a better or more exciting life; many of
them go to London, attracted by the bright lights, the night life, the youth scene and the hope of finding work.
4. There are indeed more jobs in London than in most other cities, they are not always good jobs, and the dream
Of leaving home and finding a job often turns out to be just that; a dream.
5. Even teenagers with caring parents and lovely homes dream of leaving home.

A. What does Sarah say about her experience? What is the most relevant?

Answ//: Sarah has never had family problems or very serious discomforts with her relatives, however the reason why she
is so convinced to leave her house is because the place where she lives does not allow her to fulfill all the goals that she
sets herself, despite being A good student and having good relationships made the decision to leave to fulfill her dreams

and with a greater motivation that is the support of her parents during the stay, the most relevant thing about her
experience is that she differs from other young people, she does not do it for freedom or freedom from rules, but to fulfill
their idyllic dreams.

B. Give your opinion about the two teenagers’ stories.

Answ//: In my opinion, both experiences show different points of view that represent a percentage of people, both Simon
and Sarah are correct, since each one shows their conditions and their reasons for leaving or staying at home, each one
making their decision Regarding its context, Simon did not see the need to leave home because he knew that it was much
easier than living alone and fulfilling more tasks and responsibilities, and he emphasizes that if he did it would only be due
to the obligation to go to college, while Sarah, despite the fact that she could be in the same conditions as him, finds a
problem, which is living in a town that limits her from achieving her goals, so both are totally successful, I really think they
are right, each one recognizes their problems and they know what is the best they can do about them.

1. Make a short summary of the text.

Over the years, many teens think about leaving home from time to time, they dream of independence, no matter how
young they are, but minor dreams seem to contradict real experiences and if older people answered the same question,
they would say things totally different. Every year thousands of young people in the UK leave their homes in search of a
better or more interesting life, on the other hand most travel to London to capture and live the best experiences in order
to find a job, however many end up living on the streets, this is not a new problem and there are many organizations
that can help homeless people find a home, and teens dream of walking alone even if their parents and home are full of
love but children of families very poor or aggressive also agree with this, two young people show a representation of
what many thousands live through the narration of their experiences, where each presents different conditions and
problems, however each one makes the most appropriate decision to their problem.
