NSS Workshop & One credit course

On 13.03.2020 and 14.03.2020, one credit course and
work shop was conducted for the NSS volunteers on
the topic “Community Service and Leadership
Development” at Old Mechanical Seminar Hall.
Ms Rani (Empanelled Training Institution) and
Mrs Selvanayaki (Women study centre, Coimbatore)
were the trainers and Programme officers
Dr V N Vijayakumar, Dr R Praveena, Dr A Mahudeswaran organized the event. About 150 volunteers
participated and topics that were discussed are the structure of NSS, roles and responsibilities of the
volunteers, hygiene practices, healthy environment, entrepreneurship development etc. Assessment based
on outcome based question paper was conducted to the volunteers on the second day. 20/03/68755

One Credit Course organized by department of EEE

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized a one
credit course on “Fundamentals of Lab VIEW (15EE0XI)” on 14.03.2020 and
15.03.2020 for third year EEE Students. The resource person was
Mr.M.Nagavinod, Technical Leader, and Honeywell Technology Solutions
Bengaluru. Forty students from III year EEE attend the one credit course.

Awareness of Food and Nutrients by NSS & ICDS

On 14.03.2020, NSS BIT organized an awareness
program on food and nutrients in association with
Primary Health Centre (PHC), Ukkaram and Integrated
Child Development Service (ICDS), Sathyamangalam.
The ICDS project coordinator conducted a training
session on “Healthy Food Habits” from 03:30 p.m. at
Old Mechanical Seminar Hall. Dr.Prabavathy from
PHC delivered a talk on anemia and its preventive
measures, hemoglobin deficiency and about the
menstrual cycle. ICDS team comprising of 90
members exhibited our traditional foods and its benefits under the theme “POSHAN PAKHWADA” an
initiative from Government of India at Engineering Physics Laboratory - I. They explained about the
medicinal uses and nutrients present in each traditional foods like ragi dosa and pakkoda, beetroot juice,
healthy fruits and green leafy vegetables etc... A rally on Good food habits and child development was
conducted inside the college premises from 05:45 pm to 06:15 pm. Around 140 volunteers actively
participated in the programme. The programme was successfully conducted under the guidance of the
Programme officers Dr.V.N.Vijayakumar, Dr.R.Praveena and Assistant Programme officers, Dr.N.Karthiga

and Chemistry at Learning center and Civil conference hall on 16.03.2020. The faculty members have
given the presentation from their allotted subject for the even semester 2019-2020. Dr P Thangaraj, Dean
Academics & TSD along with the expert members reviewed the presentation and suggestions were given
for further improvement.

Skill Development Programme - Aeronautical Engineering

Skill training programme on Mechanical
Engineering CAD has been conducted on 16.03.2020 for
first year Aeronautical Engineering students at CISCO lab.
A total number of 46 students attended the programme
and underwent training in surface design in CATIA and
application of modelling software in Aerospace

I Year Civil Engineering students undergone World skill development
programme on flexural testing of Tiling on 16.03.2020. Acid
penetration and water absorption of tiles are also carried out on the tiles
manufactured by the Students. Students were assessed at the end of the

Skill Development Programme - Electrical & Electronics Engineering

EEE students have undergone skill training in Electrical
Installation, Industrial Control and Electronics at BEEE,
EEE computer center and Electronics laboratories
respectively. The students were trained on electrical
layout of DC power source using E-CAD software at EEE
computer center-2. The students were trained to design
logics for object control at EEE computer center-1.
Design of Amplifiers, Flip flops, Sensors and their
applications were taught at Electronics lab with hands

Inauguration of National conference on signal processing

communication and networking (NCSPCN)
The department of ECE organized a National level
conference on signal processing communication and
networking on 13 march 2020. Dr.C.Poongodi HOD ECE,

inaugurated the conference. To enhance the knowledge for
