Hello everyone,
This might be an odd question, but can one have chronic heartburn all of sudden? I'm 36 year old female, and it's been almost 2 weeks that I
have been burping and having heartburn. I have never had this problem in my teens and 20s, and is worrying and frustrating. I'm going to see a
doctor next week, but I know she will just prescribe me some meds which I don't wanna take forever.
Perhaps I can go see a naturopathic doctor. Any suggestion?
Thank you.
I've read where several get the horrible PND with LPR but does anyone actually get something out sometimes? I use a neti pot
and do get goop up especially after eating. That's another thing......When I have that awful stuffed PND feeling sometimes it actually goes away
if I eat something? Wonder what's up with this? Pressure in stomach changing? Really weird symptoms that I never thought would relate to my
stomach.

I had the Nissen Fundoplication done in January of this year, and all WAS going well, until May. I have been through everything
since then trying to figure out what is going on, and it was found out I have what is called a Paraesophageal Hernia. Much more serious that the
hiatal hernia I had repaired during my surgery in January. Uhhhhggg! So to make matters worse I just found out the only option I have is surgery.
And then the only Dr near me that has done this type before is 3 hours away from me. And THEN I found out I have a lump on my thyroid that is
coming back as being suspicious for cancer. Will it never end??? I am so frustrated...thanks though for letting me vent!
I had a violent coughing/choking attack at work believed due to post nasal drip. No cold at the time. some days later I
experienced dull aching pain in my chest (sternal area) up my neck involving my ears. Also coincidentally the inner side of my left forearm.
Bizarre. Had stress test, ekg and ct scan all normal. MD thinks reflux but GI MD said poss all muscular from such violent choking and attempting
to get my breath. Anyone have this???? It's much better now, nearly 2 mos after, but walking too fast or too far, bending way over and lifting or
carrying things brings it on. Very frustrated.
Used to get at times lower stomach pains which led to 8 to 12 hours of severe pain could not even touch milk at all if I did I get a
15 min very severe attack after that left me with a full feeling.I had surgery july 17th removed gall bladder full of stones also had a twisted lower
bowl repaired. Now listen to this while in hospital was fine 6days but after coming home say 3days in when laying down or no activity I get attacks
like i used to when I drank milk last up to at times 15mins also at beginning of meals dont matter what I eat
I have tried these meds with no luck Pantaloc, Pariet, Losec, Nexium seemed to be the better of the 4 but still no up to par also tried tums before
meals
pepcid ac I also take for digestion Domperidone tried a few teas as well for
gas Oval works good
any help will be greatly appreciated by the way all other pains talking about those 8 hour maratons are gone
Thanks Hawker71
Hello, all. I posted this in another thread where it got buried, so thought I'd start my own thread. I can REALLY relate to the
breathing problems and constant belching.
I'm late 40s, female, need to lose a lot of weight. I've been on Nexium for about 5 years but recently did a 6-week course of antibiotics
(amoxycillin) for chronic sinus infection. My sinuses are cleared up but I'm too uncomfortable to enjoy it. I have a sensation like my lungs are
bumping up against something and won't fully inflate. I have to sort of contort and yawn big to get a satisfying breath, and even then I can't
"catch" it every time. It doesn't hurt exactly, it's just terribly frustrating and distracting. I have soreness in my sides and back from the effort to
breathe. I haven't been able to get much work done and have been really unproductive the last two months. When you can't breathe, you really
can't think about much else!
I completed the antibiotics two weeks ago but still not back to normal. I can't even remember what normal feels like.
I just stocked up on Activia and started taking acidophilus Saturday. I guess it takes a little while to kick in.
Anyone else have a similar experience with antibiotics setting things off? And did you eventually get better? Did probiotics work? Please share
your experiences.
I've got an appointment with an ENT this week, but I'm beginning to think maybe I should call my primary and ask her to refer me to a
gastroenterologist.
Hello everyone,
I was taking Primal Defence probiotic by Garden of Life for 6 days, and on 7th day I began to have burping and heartburn. It's been 7 days with
those symptoms, and the symptoms have not gone away.
I rarely get heartburn, and it's a bit worrying me that it's been a week and I don't feel better. Has anyone had this problem with this product or any
other probiotic?
Any suggestion will help greatly.
Thank you!
I was wondering if anyone's found a way to actually get rid of their GERD/ acid reflux?
I've had the GERD for about...seven years now, so I'm used to it, but it's still bothersome.
I'm already maxed out on protonix; the doctors I saw a few years ago told me that it was HIGHLY unusual for someone my age to have it (I
developed it at about 10 years old, I'm 17 now), and that, because of my age, it would most likely disappear in the next few years.
Well, it hasn't disappeared. If anything, it's only getting worse. I cut out most of the things you're not supposed to eat or drink with GERD, I don't
do anything to aggravate it.
I've tried nearly every medication there is for it; starting with the OTC meds, and then working through nexium and a few others (which had
relatively no effect whatsoever on the GERD; it continued to get worse). The protonix is the first medication that allows me to escape most of the
usual symptoms, but it's still not enough.
Is there any way to REALLY get rid of this? I'm worried that, at this rate, the protonix won't help in another year or two, and I don't know what I'll
do then.
Has anyone had side effects from Nexium? I have been having muscle pain for a week now and I can't figure out why! Could
Nexium be the cause? I can't find anything in the literature that lists this as a side effect . Anyone else get this?
i had a duodenul ulcer perforation about 2 months ago, does anyone know when i can start exercising again, as in cycling, weight
lifting?
