VIETNAM ECONOMIC AND POLITICAL OVERVIEW
2018 Estimated: GDP 6.9%, Inflation 4.0%
2019 Forecast: GDP 6.8%, Inflation 4.5%

Policy has been focused on further economic


liberalization and strengthening the banking sector
in order to foster a more transparent investment
environment

The Government committed to pushing on reforms


to the SOE sector, intellectual property rights, e-
commerce and the digital economy

FDI continues to be the long-term growth driver.


Currently, Vietnam has 10 free trade agreements
(FTAs) in force which play an important role in
boosting FDI inflow and Vietnamese trade
