This event is for confident programmers who have enhanced problem solving skills and can work well
under pressure and in a given time constraint.
This event will comprise of one round, that will last for 3 hours.
A winner and runner up will be decided from the participating teams.
Languages allowed: C++, C#, Java
IDE: Visual Studio for C++, C# and Eclipse for Java
Any change in rules can be done but all the teams will be informed about it prior to event.

Participants are required to build a tower like structure using A4 papers without the use
of any binding material.
The tower must be free-standing i.e. without any external support and muster main so,
during judgment.
Each team is allowed 2participants.
Weight will be placed on top of the tower.
The tower height just be more than or at least equal to 1m, otherwise marks will be
deducted.
Use of material other than what is already provided is prohibited.
40 A4 pages will be provided.
Use of glue is forbidden.
Modifications to the ground are allowed

9. BRIDGE DESIGN
Hey guys! We invite you to explore your creativity, innovation, and ingenuity in our bridge
building competition. Mark your calendars and put your problem-solving skills to test.
RULES:

Bridges will be tested by successively adding weights on top of the bridges
No re-testing or repairing is allowed!
Scoring will be done on bridge design, Weight lifted, and a short Viva.
TIME:
Total time for making the bridge given to the teams will be 2 hours. One hour will be given for the bridge
to set and dry before testing. Time taken in testing (around an hour or so depending on number of teams)
is not included in this time.
Project Exhibition is an event focusing upon bringing realistic and capable projects
upfront. This event provides with the opportunity to the competitive projects to become
a commercial success. The projects should be in working condition .Team have to give
presentation on their project after exhibition.

The device must be able to protect an egg from breaking after falling at least one story.
If your egg survives, you will move on to the next round which is one story higher - up
to nine (9) stories. See the judging criteria below for the case of ties.
The device must not exceed 8” cubic area (8” x 8” x 8”).
The following requirements are given for the loading of the device:
o The devices should not be loaded with an egg before the competition.
o All devices should be designed to be easily loaded by a third party at the
competition, i.e. within l minute or less. (This factor may be used to determine
a winner.)

o If there are special instructions for loading the device, these instructions
should be provided on a regular 8.5” x 11” sheet of paper with the student’s
name(s) and competition registration number together with the submission of
the device.
The following materials are not allowed in the design:
Any type of parachute contraption (designs must be able to free fall)
Packing peanuts
Metals (except for conjunction items such as screws, staples, paperclips, etc.),
glass, chemical containers, Styrofoam (with the exception of whole Styrofoam
cups), and thick wood (such as 2x4) and any food products.
The egg remains intact. If any of the egg’s contents spills, the design is disqualified.
The egg which survives the highest fall is considered the winner. If there is more than
one device which qualifies to be the winner, the judges will determine a winner based on
the following.
a. The size and weight of the design: Most points are awarded for the minimum size and
weight.
b. Ease of operation: Most points are awarded to the device which is the easiest to load.
c. Creativity and Engineering Practice: Most points are awarded to the device which
demonstrates the most creative design solution, the greatest knowledge of physical sciences,
and the greatest craftsmanship.
d. Durability of the Device: Most points are awarded to the device with the least damage by
the end of the competition.

14. DUMB CHARADES
An exhibition of sketches shall be carried out during the judgment round and will be open for
all to view.
The regulations and dues for Theme Sketching are:

Sketch/image must be drawn on the sheet provided. First 30 to 40 contestants signed
up and paid for the competition are in... First-come-first-serve.

Each team has to present a drama on any open topic of their choice with a clear theme
and message.
No drama should exceed its maximum time limit (15 minutes).
Marks will be deducted in case of violation of time limits.
For stage setting maximum of 5 minutes will be provided prior to performance. If this
limit is exceeded then additional time will be counted in the performance.
Judges are the ultimate authority and no one can challenge their decision.
Participating teams are not allowed to portray any content in their performances which is
below moral standards e.g. loose or non – parliamentary language. In case of violation,
performance will be disqualified.
Dramas pointing any political or national issues including social taboos would also be
encouraged if and only if presented in a proper manner.
Organizing Team will only provide the following items:
2 tables and 4 chairs
Laptop (one of the team members would operate the computer)
Sound System (4 to 6 microphones)
Anything not mentioned in the list will have to be arranged by the teams themselves.
Participants are supposed to set the stage prior to their performance.

In case of any activity that may cause harm to facilities provided by HITEC (stage,
microphones, etc.) will result in immediate disqualification of teams.
Note: The stage of HITEC is carpeted.

Each photo story should have 5 pictures pasted on black chart paper.
Photos should represent a story on the given theme as provided by HITEC
University.
Don’t write anything on the chart paper except your name, university and title of you
story related to the theme given.
Post processing is allowed.
Digital manipulation is allowed.
It will be judged on the basis of photos and story.
Submit them on the given time to the photo booth.
All photo stories will be displayed once you submit it is the property of HITEC
University.

Description:
We believe dance is the conversation between the body and the soul, do you? Here
is the time to show the world. Join us and be the part of this extravaganza.
Rules:
The performance should be solo.
Each member must submit their track/audio sound to the host team 2 hours
before the event.
Dance could be of any type either
i. Break Dance
ii. Folk Dance
iii. Cultural Dances (Provincial)
-Dance performance should be within the time limit i.e. 3 to 5 minutes.
-Marks will be deducted in case of violation of the time limit.
-Participating members are not allowed to portray any content in their performances which is
below moral standards. In case of violation, team will be disqualified.

-In case of any activity that may cause harm to facilities provided by host team (stage, mics, etc.)
will result in immediate disqualification of team.
➢Note:
Participants are supposed to set the stage prior to their performance and remove their belongings
from the stage when they are over with their performance, by themselves. No modification to
stage acts, equipment or sound is to be made to create any attraction without the approval of the
event managers and coordinator.

23. MINUTE TO WIN IT
Outline: The participants will be taking part in a series of simple and fun 60-second challenges.
Failure to complete the tasks within 60 seconds would result in elimination. There will be
multiple rounds. Whoever wins all or most of the rounds will be declared the winner of the
game.
This event will test your basic mathematic skills and IQ (general knowledge and trick questions).
This contest will consist of two rounds.
Round 1:
Two Pop-up Quiz having 40-50 MCQs (30-50). Quiz will be related to your IQ skills.

25. CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION (CSI)
Do you want to be like Sherlock Holmes? Have you ever fantasized about being on the scene of
a crime with your evidence bag? Do you love being a detective but never had the chance? Do
you think you have a special eye for analyzing evidence?
DESCRIPTION:
The participants will have to solve a crime case (could be a murder case) by identifying true
criminal(s), cause and consequence of the crime and the real story behind. They will proceed to
unfold clues by visiting places of interest and interrogating witnesses and suspects. Finally they
will make a report of whatever they conclude from their investigation.

HITEC OLYMPIAD’2020
The Cinemograph must also be submitted without the
basic/ color adjustments, if submitted with the adjustments.HITEC University will
reserve the copyrights of the media so logos are not allowed.
The media will be selected by a panel of judges and their decision shall befinal.
The media can be submitted in CD/DVD, flash drive, SD card to Event Head,
and must be submitted until 9:00Am on Day 3

The team can bring things (instruments,ceramics,saughats) along with them. If they are
bringing anything to represents culture they are to inform us at the time of registration or

32. SMALL GAMES
Server must serve from behind the end line until after contact
Ball may be served underhand or overhand
Served ball may graze the net and drop to the other side for point
First serve will be decided by toss i.e. ( choosing side or serve )

A legal hit is contact with the ball by a player body above and including the waist. Drag
not allowed.
A player must not block or attack a serve
Switching positions will be allowed only between front line players. ( After the serve
only )
Hitting the ball illegally (Carrying, Palming, Throwing, etc.)
Touches of the net with any part of the body while the ball is in play. If the ball is driven
into the net with such force that it causes the net to contact an opposing player, no foul
will be called, and the ball shall continue to be in play
Reaching over the net, except under these conditions a) When executing a follow-through
b) When blocking a ball which is in the opponents court but is being returned ( the
blocker must not contact the ball until after the opponent who is attempting to return the

WINNING
When a piece has circumnavigated the board, it proceeds up the home column. A piece
can only be moved onto the home triangle by an exact throw.
The first person to move all 4 pieces into the home triangle wins.

Participants can only recite the Quranic verses. Participants can recite in both Hadr and
Mujawwid styles.
Each participant will be given a maximum of 4 minutes to recite the verses from The
Holy Quran.
Generally marking criteria will be based on following
Recitation style
Tajweed
Talaffuz or pronunciation
Voice quality
If a participant makes a mistake while reciting, and the mistake was corrected by the
judges, the student will lose points.
Similarly, if a student makes a mistake and fails to adhere to Tajweed rules, and the
mistake is corrected by the judges, the student will lose points as well.
It is a solo event. You cannot work in a team.
The decision given by the judges would be final. Judges’ decision could not be
challenged.
Any misbehavior or violation of rules would lead to the disqualification of the
participant.

46. NAAT
For Naat competition, any Naat can be prepared by the participants, but its tune should
not resemble any song.
In Naat reciter will not be allowed to read any Kalam which cannot be called naat like
Muqabat etc.
Maximum time for one Naat is 4 minutes after which there will be negative marking.
Generally marking criteria will be based on following
Lyrics
Talaffuz or pronunciation
Voice quality
It is a solo event. You cannot work in a team.
The decision given by the judges would be final. Judges’ decision could not be
Challenged.

50. PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES
Round 1(Evaluation Round): All the teams will participate in this short round. This
round will be based on written test and 4 winner teams will be selected for final round.
This round will take almost 45-50 minutes’ maximum. (If there are more teams in
competition, up to 6 teams can be selected for final)
Round 2 (Final Round): Winner of Evaluation round will play in this round. This round
will begin within 15-20 minutes of previous round. And this round will comprise of 3-4
interesting rounds in it. They can be changed if required. Summary is as follows:
Round 1: Buzzer Round (With more than 12 questions so each team have chance to get
almost 3 questions)
Round 2: MCQs with 5 questions for each team
Round 3: Picture Round with one question for each team
Round 4: To be decided (optional)
This round will take almost 30-35 minutes’ maximum. Subject of Quiz: Islamic Studies,
Information Technology, General Knowledge (History), Science and Sports.
NOTE: these rules may change if there is an increase in number of teams.
