Ethical Issues on the use of Artificial Intelligence

Introduction and Discussion:

The first industrial revolution has happened by the invention of the steam engine in the
18th century and helped for mechanical production. The second industrial revolution
has happened in the 19th century by the invention of electricity and acquired a massive
change in the industrial world eventually abetted for mass production. The third
industrial revolution which happened in the 20th century dragged the entire industry into
the digital world by the introduction of Information Technology, electronics and computer
programming languages. The present-day technology is flourishing in such a way that it
is trying to imitate human intelligence, trying to process like humans, trying to do
anything that a human can do and this is the 4th industrial revolution by the virtue of
Artificial intelligence and humanoid robots. [CITATION Syd17 \l 16393 ]

Artificial intelligence is nothing but embedding human intelligence into machines. There
are many uses of artificial intelligence. There will be the involvement of artificial
intelligence in many cases and activities in our daily life which people may not even
recognize the importance of artificial intelligence. End products of artificial intelligence
will be used but the role of artificial intelligence may not be noticed by all the users.

In the present world, most probably every sector is diving to use artificial intelligence in
their respective fields. Impression of artificial intelligence is in many sectors like security,
army, crime detection, self-driving cars, health care, industries, marketing, humanoid
robots, personal assistants, gaming, astronomy, and many daily uses. [CITATION Tya16 \l

Artificial intelligence is growing in such a way that, many tasks that are able to solve by
humans can also be solved by using Artificial Intelligence and interestingly some of the
tasks that are not able to solve by humans can be solved by Artificial intelligence.

Yes, artificial intelligence is good and useful, but not every time. For any technology,
there will be some aspects in favor of that technology and unfortunately, there exist
some aspects that disesteem about the technology as well. Like any other technology,
artificial intelligence is not always perfect. There are many advantages and
correspondingly some imperfections, disadvantages of artificial intelligence. All the
imperfections of Artificial intelligence may not be existing but the long-term
disadvantages can be predicted by examining the current situation and the impact of
Artificial intelligence on the current world. It is up to the user who uses the technology.
Amazing AI - Issue of unemployment - cutback of jobs:
One of the major concerns due to growth in technology and the vast increase in the use
of Artificial intelligence in every sector in the current world is the unemployment of
humans. Most of the work in the industry world is mechanized. Even the organizations
and industries choose the work to be efficient and to be completed in time. The work
done by many people can be done by robots very efficiently. Humans may suffer from
stress during the work but it is not in the case of the machines. Machines do not have
the word stress in their dictionary. Machines just need the source like power supply,
battery, etc., to operate. It is not the case that in all kinds of jobs, humans are replaced
with machines. New jobs will also be generated in the field of Artificial intelligence and
related to artificial intelligence. The problem is that the rate of human job loss is far
more than the rate of new job generation. For example, let us say that the self-driving
system is introduced everywhere and then just imagine the situation of people who
works as drivers in all sectors around the world. yes, millions of people lose jobs if all
the drivers completely replaced with self-driving systems. Then one can predict the job
losses if artificial intelligence completely dominates humans.

Inability to replace the human brain in some cases:

Though Artificial intelligence is developing tremendously there are some situations
where machines could not make accurate decisions as human beings. Situations may
become worse if people completely dependent on artificial intelligence. Human
intelligence is completely appreciable in situations where emotions are needed to be
considered. Technology can never replace human’s mentality. Many algorithms may
exist in the world it just cannot match with human emotions. In simple AI cannot dupe
human intelligence. However, machines get advanced or faster or adaptive to
technology it cannot match with the neurons of human intelligence. Machines based on
artificial intelligence works based on the code, training provided to them, but in most
cases, machines based on artificial intelligence could not make decisions as human
brains.
What if AI assumes responsibility for people?
The utilization of Artificial intelligence is expanding step by step. Just imagine the
situation if takes control over human beings, things will become worse than predicted.
Eventually, people need to surrender for machines and human life becomes so tough
and it is so difficult for human beings to sustain in the world of machines and robots
dominating human beings. As a result, human life comes to an end and there will be no
human being in this world and will be filled with Artificial intelligence based systems,
robots, machines.[CITATION Kam19 \l 16393 ]

Artificial intelligence is not always perfect:

Every technology consists of its own advantages and disadvantages. Like any other
technology, artificial intelligence has its own advantages and disadvantages. Nowadays
Many sensitive and security tasks like face recognition, fingerprint scanning, voice
recognition are handled by Artificial intelligence. There are chances that Artificial
intelligence may recognize the correct person as a fraud or may consider fraud cases
as legitimate users. In some cases due to the fault of decisions made by artificial
intelligence, it may affect many lives. Social media is one of the major platforms where
people around the world are connected. Because of social media people come to know
many things happening around the world. if any bot or any unethically designed
machine or code spreads any kind of potentially sensitive content which emotionally
targets feelings of the people, then it is very harming to the people who are emotionally
connected to the post. These kinds of activities may cause huge damage to the society.

What if AI systems are allowed to harm/hurt humans?

AI based systems are basically coded to learn by themselves from the experiences they
face. What if they are allowed to hurt humans, the situations will become worse than
predicted. Just imagine if an AI based machine is provided with a gun and can kill
people, then the AI based systems will kill the people pointlessly. For the artificial AI
systems, it is just executing the code but for human beings, it is the matter of life. It not
ethical that AI based systems are allowed to hurt/harm people. There are shreds of
evidence that prove it is really dangerous to allow AI based systems to kill/harm people.

But how AI has been able to sustain…?
The creator of AI is human, it is simple that AI based systems work according to the
creation of humans. Humans are getting adapted to the new growing technology.
Moreover, every individual has a stint to thorough his/her work efficiently and
effortlessly. As there is a need for AI, there is a requirement for creating new
technologies. Not only about an individual’s need, AI helps society in many ways like
sustainable land use-climate change, pollution control-biodiversification, protecting
habitats, protecting species, draught planning-water supply, early warnings-disaster
resilience. So, there is no point in the unsustainability of AI in this technology-dependent
flourishing world.[CITATION Her18 \l 16393 ]

CONCLUSION:
All that we love about development is a result of insight, so enhancing our human
knowledge with computerized reasoning has the capability of helping progress thrive
more than ever as long as we figure out how to keep the innovation valuable.
From voice assistants to self-driving cars, AI has marked its footprint everywhere.
Artificial intelligence has designed its oath in almost every domain: medical fields,
security and surveillance system, agriculture, financial, traffic monitoring and in almost
all the fields. Even though there are negative points to be raised, everything is in the
hands of humans. It's we who trained our intelligence system. Machine just works with
our knowledge. We the creator of it so why not we train it according to the proper use.
Some of the thinkers Stephen Hawking notes that artificial intelligence will erase human
mankind, but I hope it to be the solution to all the constraints we face today. In simple
it’s helping us to be better and live in a better environment examples like ‘neat, low cost,
dependent energy’ that we rely on. Artificial intelligence will make each and every work
to be done in no time. From asking Alexa to do our tasks and to the use of maps, it has
changed every work in our daily life. The last few words to conclude that every
beginning and everything in this world is in relation to intelligence. AI elevates and
companion’s human intelligence. Proper working with intelligence can discover way
breaking advancements and disclosures.
