SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (SMPH) is an integrated property developer in Southeast Asia that
offers innovative and sustainable lifestyle cities with the development of malls, residences,
offices, hotels and convention centers. It is also a subsidiary of SM Investments Corporation and
the largest in the Philippines in terms of asset.
SM Prime Holdings, Inc. was incorporated in Philippines in January 6, 1994 and is
headquartered in Pasay, to develop, conduct, operate and maintain the SM commercial shopping
centers and all business related thereto. They started as a mall developer and operator and grew
to be the biggest retail shopping center developer and operator in the Philippines.
In 2013, the Sy family decided to consolidate its property assets under SM Prime, then the
consolidation process saw the Sy-controlled condominium builder SM Development, leisure
property firm Highlands Prime and privately held SM Land being folded into SM Prime.
In early 2014, SM Prime launched a five-year plan that calls for spending 400 billion pesos to
almost double real estate projects and sales by 2019.
SM Prime is managed by Hans Sy, son of Henry Sy, SM Group founder and the Philippines
richest man.
As of December 31, 2018, SMPH has 72 malls in the Philippines and seven shopping malls in
China. The malls in China are located in the cities of Xiamen, Jinjiang, Chengdu, Zibo,
Chongqing, Tianjin, and Suzhou. The Company has 44 residential projects, 13 commercial
projects, six hotels, four convention centers and three trade halls. SMPH also owns Sky Ranch,
an amusement park in Tagaytay City and within SM City Pampanga.
Among the Company's subsidiaries are SM Development Corporation; Costa del Hamilo, Inc.;
Highlands Prime Inc.; Tagaytay Resort Development Corporation; SM Arena Complex
Corporation; SM Hotels and Conventions Corp.; and SM Land (China) Limited.

The company operates in four segments: Malls, Residential, Commercial & Hotel and
Convention centers.
SM Prime stated its mall development in 1985 with the opening of SM North Edsa. The Mall
segment develops, conducts, operates and maintains the business of modern commercial
shopping centers and all businesses related thereto such as the conduct, operation and
maintenance of shopping center spaces for rent, amusement centers, or cinema theaters within
the compound of the shopping centers.
SM Prime’s wholly-owned residential developer, SM Development Corporation (SMDC), is one
of the leading housing developers in the Philippines. SMDC commits itself to provide access to
luxurious urban living through vertical villages perfectly integrated with a commercial retail
environment, giving its residents access to a truly cosmopolitan lifestyle.
SM Prime’s Commercial Properties Group (CPG) primarily handles the development and leasing
of office buildings in prime Metro Manila and strategic regional locations, as well as the
operations and management of such buildings and other land holdings.
SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation (SMHCC) was established to address the vast potential
of tourism in the country that allow guests to experience luxury and the world-renowned Filipino
hospitality, made more memorable by the natural beauty of their surrounding landscapes. The
Hotels and Convention centers segment engages in and carry on the business of hotel and
convention centers and operates and maintains any and all services and facilities incident
thereto.
