A fraction takes a singular verb if the object of the of-


phrase is singular; a fraction takes a plural verb if the object of the

Two thirds of the bottles are full of water.
3. Three fourths of the cake was given to the neighbor.
Three fourths of the cakes were given to the neighbor.

A percentage takes a singular verb if the object of the of-
phrase is singular; a percentage takes a plural verb if the object of
the of-phrase is plural.
Examples:

Seventy-two percent of the vote doesn’t reflect on the tally machine.

be used in each sentence.

 GROUP 3: You are social health workers. You are
weighing kids in Brgy. Pili. Make 5 sentences reporting
the different weights found in your field work. Observe

 GROUP 4: You are part of the National Budget Committee
created by President Duterte. You need to have portions/
percentage (100%) of budget for HEALTH, EDUCATION,
PEACE AND ORDER, INFRASTRUCTURE, and
EMPLOYMENT. Make 5 sentences showing budget plan
you made. Observe subject-verb agreement rule
concerning PERCENTAGE.
 GROUP 5: You are a group of MATH TEACHERS, make
5 statements using fractions for your lesson. Observe
subject-verb agreement rule concerning FRACTIONS.

Directions: In each number, supply the correct form of verb to be
used from the given choices.
