How will taking this course help you achieve your career goals?

Apart from being an opera singer, I own, along with a friend, an alternative/urban
music duo. We started after finishing school as a productive team that composed
music for small local theaters and short movies and played live music in special
events held by various companies. However, our need for personal expression led us
to the path of songwriting.

Nowadays, it takes a firm infrastructure for a notion or a feeling to take flight. This is
where technology enters by enriching the work of art towards its proper
communication. We both have studied sound engineering in several courses, yet we
are still experiencing serious lack of knowledge and that is why we have always had
to entrust our ideas to expensive freelancers.

Consequently, I decided to enrol in this course, as I mostly admire how instantly and
majorly technology enlivens sound and I am enchanted by the idea that this renders a
simple process of applied knowledge that could be performed by me so that I may
endow my music with a sparkle of inspiration that awes me as much.

Music Production

My name is Sofia Giannitsiou Papaevangelou, I come from Greece and I am twenty-

four years old. I graduated from Kingston University London (Bachelor of Music
Hons), as a lyrical singer in July 2015. While finishing another Bachelor in
Musicology at the University of Athens, I am currently doing my Master’s degree in
lyrical singing (Opera Lirica) at the “Cesare Pollini” Conservatoire of Padua. Being
an active artist, nowadays, often requires involvement in much more than a single
aspect of the artistic spectrum; therefore, I have always been trying to incorporate in
my “life-plan” different approaches of music, in which Music Production/Technology
renders an indispensable part. That is why I have decided to start this Music
Production Specialization. Unfortunately, living on my own and paying for my
studies, I am deprived of the opportunity to invest on further peripheral education.
Consequently, I am kindly requesting financial support, so that I can take part in this
journey of education, which I believe is more valuable than expensive. Thank you for
your kind consideration.

TESOL

My name is Sofia Giannitsiou Papaevangelou, I come from Greece and I am twenty-

six years old.
Being
an active artist, nowadays, often requires involvement in much more than a single
aspect of the industry; therefore, I have decided to simultaneously invest on another
great chapter of my life: languages.

I always admired the way some people are able to communicate and survive in every
part of the world and I am glad to admit that at the age of 26, having lived for more
than a year in 3 different countries (Greece, UK, Italy) and travelled to much more, I
can consider myself as one of them. After I finished my studies in London I found
myself stunned by the miracles of the English Language and its extended potential.
Leaving London and trying to settle down to a whole new reality led me to the
decision to start teaching the language I so much loved. In the beginning I started with
private lessons and even if it seemed a good opportunity my lack of connections due
to my living instability made it almost impossible to take this job seriously. Then I
started working on online English teaching jobs which target countries like China
where the need of English teachers is at its zenith.

For the past 3 years I have been teaching English, as an academic, trying to inspire my
students with my passion for the English language and culture. I am very
communicative, a hard-worker, but very patient and friendly with my students. I like
working in an organised environment, even under pressure, and I can handle every
difficult situation. But, at some point, I felt this is not enough.

There is this whole science, called Pedagogy that studies this interactive activity of
teaching and learning, interdisciplinarily working with sciences like Psychology and
Sociology. There is so much to learn on how to really achieve this inspiration which
will lead to the real acquisition of the language.

I firmly believe that this TESOL Certificate Specialization will help me clarify and
organize the rules that I should or shouldn’t follow and finally improve my teaching
technique. I aim at finishing the whole Specialization, which apart from its practical
value will also stand as a strong confirmation of my qualifications as an English
teacher.

Thank you for your consideration.

Photography

Video art, render an indispensable part. That is why I have decided to start the present
specialization. Unfortunately, living on my own and paying for my studies, I am

Apart from being inextricably bound to our everyday life, photography makes it
possible for an artist to depict their personal view of reality. Capturing a moment of
life that will always remain alive through a picture can easily be enhanced or
intentionally distorted in any possible way as long as you possess the so-called know-
how; this includes both exploring the physical means and their features and creating
the concept that will successfully express your aesthetic. And that is where
technology enters by enriching the work of art towards its proper communication.

Myself, as a musician, I have always needed a better knowledge of photography in

order to be able to support and promote my art and my profile. Since, I consider
myself a concept artist, I believe that visual arts not only enhance but even complete
my music.

Consequently, I decided to enrol in this course, as I mostly admire how instantly and
majorly technology can capture and enliven my view of reality and I am enchanted by
the idea that this renders a simple process of applied knowledge that could be
