Finding your identity and purpose in God

Today I want to talk about finding your identity and purpose in God. Do you know your purpose on
earth, Are you someone with an identity? Do you know what God has purposes for you? Do you know
what will with you is? Or you are just a place holder?If you were to die today would you be confident
that you have done what you were created for? Or you would have robbed the world? How do you find
your identity in Christ? Let's go to the book of Romans 7:15-20. Paul begins by saying I do not
understand my actions. For I do not do what I want but the very thing I hate. You put the blame on
people that they don't understand you yet even you you don't understand yourself. You are constantly
in a battle with your decision making.You expect people to be honest with you yet you are not even
honest to yourself. You lying to yourself you make up excuse for everything. You always assume things.
Let me tell you this. Assumption is the lowest level of knowledge. You have to own up to your decision-
making whether good or bad. No matter how good your excuse is it will never solve your problem for
you. Verse 16 says I do what I do not want because it is no longer I who do it but the sin that dwells in
me. All the decisions you make in your life. Some of them don't we the light of day because of the sin
that dwells in you. It's the sin that is hindering you from getting to the fullness of your glory. You don't
have light in you. Where there is light darkness runs away. But because you are enslaved by darkness
there is no light that we see. Your vision it impaired. Verse 18 goes on to say for I know that nothing
dwells in me that is my flesh. Your flesh your flesh your flesh, It's the main reason why you stumble. You
gratify the desires of your flesh. Flee from the devil. When you are fleeing you are moving at a high
speed. You don't look back when fleeing. Galatians 5:16 says walk in the spirit and you will not gratify
the desires of flesh. You are not walking in the spirit. You need light in your life. Let Christ dwell in
you.For I have the desire to do what is right but not the ability to carry it out. In your mind you have it all
planned from A-Z, But you lack ability. You have purposed it in your heart and mind, But you don't have
the ability. I'm praying that God gives you the ability to resist the devil. He is going to give you the spirit
of discernment and revelation that you need to conquer the devil. Verse 19 for I do not do the good I
want but the evil I do not want is what I keep doing. You keep doing evil over and over. Why because sin
dwells in you. You lack ability. Verse 20 now if I do what I do not want it is no longer I who do it but the
sin that dwells within me. Why keep giving the devil the space to toss you to and fro. Why allow the sin
to dwell in you. You accepted Jesus as your Christ and saviour why then do you allow sin to dominate in
you. You don't have space for 2. One has to leave,You choose. Do you want the forces of darkness to call
shots in your life or you want Jesus as the captain of your ship. Jesus as the captain adjusts the sails in
the way you should go. Stay with me here I do not want to lose you. Take Jesus with you everywhere
you go. Now you say Moses you have said this but what now.Stay with I'm not done with you. I believe
that by the time you are done some of you would have changed. Romans 5:3-6; 3 we rejoice in our
sufferings knowing that suffering produces endurance. You are someone with a poor decision-making
ability. You are constantly suffering. Trials and tribulations are always coming your way. I'm here to say
to you. The suffering that you are going through is teaching you to endure. It's teaching to persevere.
God has a purpose for you. When we buy a car we are more worried about its efficiency. Why then are
you not alarmed by your efficiency. Are you ok with having 10% efficiency? When you suffer what to you
do? Where do you run to? How long do you stay in your closet when trial and tribulations come? Verse 4
endurance produces character. What I'm saying is if you don't suffer you don't learn how to endure and
if you don't learn how to endure then you don't get a character. When you endure you have a character.
You begin to trust God more in your life. You let go and let him stir you. You begin to say God I'm not
going only to trust your ways but I will trust also your times. Through character you develop an attitude
of gratitude. When you get a character you know more about God. Character produces hope. You are
not hearing me

Suffering = endurance

Suffering + endurance = character

Suffering + endurance + character = hope

Hope faith and belief go hand in hand. You cannot have one with out the other. Hope is when you a say
no matter what I'm going through I know there is light at the end of the tunnel. I'm praying that the
storm that was meant to stop you God is going to change it's direction and the storm will propel you
foward. It's going to get you to great heights.Where you never thought you can get. Stop listening to
people. People are people. They will always talk whether you do something right or wrong. People don't
determine your destiny. They can not stop God's promises for your life. Stop depending on people for
approval but seek God's approval that's all you need. When the ravaging storms come know that you are
close to your destiny. The only thing that can stop you is you. You are the enemy of your self. People
cannot stop your promises only your disbelief can. Don't let doubt stop your pupose, JUST BELIEVE AND
HAVE FAITH. Pray that God gives you an identity and he reveals your purpose in life. You know the great
thing about having an identity and a purpose is that. When trying times come and you fall down. You
know where to pick up from. Unlike if you don't know who you are. You don't have focus you don't have

your way. Some of you in here might be saying. If it wasnt for my father who died. Or that person who
conned me. Or only if that close relative I mine has not died. Today I would be great. But I'm here to tell
you this. God is saying you are going to make it with what you thought you have. Let you be you. You
dont have an annoint on your life to be like somebody else. At times God takes away the things or
people that we think we need so that learn to depend on him not people. If someone left you stop
crying. You didn't need them where you are going. If they were part of your destiny they wouldn't have
left. Just accept that they were not part of your destiny and move forward. Listen to this and listen very
arefully. If you dwell so much on the things that you have lost, it's very possible that you will miss the
New things that are coming your way. What you lost is not near important to what you have left. Quit
being discouraged by what you have lost what you have left is what you need. These storms, sufferings,
tribulations that we don't like do you know that they are part of our destiny. God is not concerned about
someone does or doesn't do to get you to your destiny. You need them you need him. He will do
everything at the right time. Romans 5:6; While we were still weak Christ does for the ungodly. You
don't need your machismo when you to the cross. God knows you are weak that's why he sent his son.
When will didn't have strength and sinners Christ died for you and me. At the right time Christ died for
you. God discerns the times.

Ephesians 3:14-20

It's a prayer for spiritual strength. According to his riches and glory he may grant you to be
strenghtnened through his spirit in your inner being. Because of his mercy his going to strengthen you
when trials come

Verse 17; So that Christ may dwell in your heart's through faith. Is someone listening. You were someoe
who was confused and couldn't understand his/her own actions. Why because sin dwells in you. Listen
to me. This I the best part of the sermon. Because of God's riches and glory he will strenghten you and
Christ will dwells in you. At the beginning sin was dwelling I you but now, Christ has risen, He was
assumed his place in your life. Your faith is increasing as I'm speaking now. Vedse 18; that you being
rooted and grounded in love may have strength to comprehend with all the saints.Comeon someone.
Praise God. You are now a new creation.You are rooted and grounded in love. You now have the
strength with all the saints to understand what God is saying about our life.20 Now to him who by the
power that is working within us is able to do far beyond all that we ask or think. He operates way above
our human imagination. He gives us things a don't think we need. Remember if you are praying for a
change in your situation and it's not changing then you are changing God is preparing you for the better
days to come. 21 to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and
ever. Amen And amen. God is doing something new in your life. You are no longer going to be the same
again. Your life is never going to be the same again. Wherever he sents his word it shall not return void.
It will accomplish everything that it would have been sent for
