GAME IN EDUCATION

1.1. WHAT IS THE GAME?

To conceptualise the Game , Viciana y Conde (2002) shows that “ a means of expresión
and communication of motor sensor , affective and socializing par excellence for the
children”. For these authors, play is a key element in the development of children's
affective, sensory-motor, cognitive, relational and social potentialities. [ CITATION Jos18 \l
10250 ]

To quote from Carmona y Villanueva (2006) the game is “a way of interacting with
reality, determined by the internal factors of the player, i.e. (the player's attitude to
reality, Then, we could say that in daily life, the activities that are carried out constitute a
means to achieve a certain goal, while the game constitutes an end in itself, since the
playful action produces pleasure, joy and satisfaction when executed, just like art, the
game possesses an execution that only has the purpose of being carried out in itself.
[ CITATION Jos18 \l 10250 ].

Play contributes to the physical, motor, cognitive, affective, social, emotional and moral
development of the child, in other words, to his or her integral development. Therefore,
play must be present throughout the child's life. Without it, children would not be able to
establish relationships, develop their capacities, abilities, skills and competencies.
Therefore, it is not only important but fundamental and absolutely necessary in the
integral development of children.

According to Flinchum (1988) play provides children with the freedom to release their
pent-up energy, promotes interpersonal skills and helps them find their place in the social
world.[ CITATION Mau01 \l 10250 ].

By playing, the child learns to socialize with other people, to pose and solve age-related
problems. Despite the child's need to play and the beneficial effects that play has, adults
put it aside and do not give it the place it deserves among their activities because it does
not provide any economic or tangible benefit.

For the great mayority of people, it represents a waste of time and they do not believe in
the role it plays in the child, so they force them to do activities not appropriate for their
age, underestimating the fruits they receive through their experiences. Repressing body
expression and imagination.

To quote from Brower (1988) play is not a luxury, but a necessity for every developing
child. According to Hetzer (1992) it is perhaps the best basis for a healthy, successful and
fulfilling adulthood.[ CITATION Mau01 \l 10250 ]

In the Infant Education stage, children find in their bodies and in movement the main
ways to come into contact with the reality that surrounds them and, in this way, acquire
the first knowledge about the world in which they live, grow and develop. Without a
doubt, the progressive discovery of one's own body as a source of sensations, and the
exploration of bodily possibilities, will constitute necessary experiences on which
children's thinking will be built.

The public in general tend to believe that games in education doesn't help at the children,
for that reason, (Madrona, Contreras and Gómez, 2008) shows about it , “the affective
relationships established in situations of motor activity, and in particular through play,
will be essential for emotional and body development”.

That is why playful activity is very important in the young child, who has intelligence,
spirit and body under construction. Development and recreation in short. This generates
joy in knowing that he. Is part of something.

It is a well-known fact that, the game has a characteristic similar to a pleasant activity,
since it consists of free movements, without fixed direction or any obstacle. As the child
grows, the spontaneous movements decrease and other coordinated ones appear and the
child has a real need for movement. He shakes, runs, jumps, jumps. This is a sign of
instability, another characteristic of the youthful nature.

The child does not know the environment, little by little he perceives through his senses
and begins to act within it, confronting objects, individuals and animals, so new forms of
play appear.
