Online Examination System

Existing System:
 In this Existing System, we have to take an example of our college
“Geethanjali Institute Of P.G Studies”. In our college we have two
internal Exams, they are conducting Manually. Manual in the
sense, in our college we have two internal exams, they are
conducting like this, first of all the university decide one date to
conduct exam. Prepare a time schedule within that date. Question
papers, Answer Booklet’s, Stationary will all be ready for the exam
within that date. And also prepare an analysis of how many
students are present, how many rooms are prepared for exam,
and how much manpower should be assigned. Prepare a chart to
indicate how many students are seated per class. This type of
analysis should be prepared. Depending on how many students
come, you should print out the Question papers. Prepare answer
booklets depending on student strength. Then we have a chart of
how many students are arranged in the classroom and according
to that, the hall ticket numbers should stick on every bench. Then
invigilators must be assembled and informed of the exam
instructions. Subsequently the invigilators distribute the question
papers & answer booklets to the students for writing the exam.
After completing the exam, the answer booklets are collected and
check whether the booklet count & the students count matched
or not. Total all subject exams are conducted like this. All of those
booklets should be kept in a safe place. Subsequently, the
booklets should be re-distributed to the subject teachers of the
relevant subjects & correct them. Then take the corrected
booklets and announce the marks, percentage & grades of the
students.
 This is about our existing syste0m.
Problems on Existing System:
 It takes a lot of time to conduct an Exam.
 More paper waste & Stationary waste.
 More manpower would be required.
 Printing caterage or ink waste.
 There is a chance to miss a Booklet.
 There is a chance of same hall ticket number booklets.
 It will take mare time to announce the results once the exam is
over.

Proposed System:
 We are proposing the fully computerized online examination
system.
 In this system we are providing a temporary user name &
password to the administrator.
 We are assuming that in this system we have administrator,
typist & students is there, no faculty logins because of it’s a mini
project, it’s difficult to manage faculty logins.
 Instead of faculty we are assigning a typist, that typist should
collect the questions from the faculty and prepare subject wise &
section wise Question paper.
 The prepared question paper is forwarded to administrator.
 Admin will set the duration for the question paper and place the
question paper in the exam time schedule.
 Admin will provide the user id & password to every student. Using
that user id and Password the student will login and attempt the
exam.
 Student write the exam must be completed within the allotted
time, otherwise the time limit will be completed the exam should
be automatically submitted.
 Once the exam is submitted its impossible to go back.
 Once exam is submitted, result is shared with admin.
 Now a days we are conducting Online examination system with
only MCQ questions.
 Only depending on MCQ questions we are unable to analize the
original knowledge of the student.
 That’s why in this application we are introducing the “SA (Single
Answer)/Fill in the Blank Type Questions, Match the Following
Questions, including of MCQ” also.
 Depending on this, the faculty will have a chance to identify the
student actual knowledge.
 Result is also sent to the admin, when the exam submitted.

Advantages of proposed system:

 it saves paper.
 It saves time.
 It saves environment.
 It saves man power.
 Easy to maintain the student records.
 It’s more secure.
 There is a no chance to leakage of Question papers, it depends on
admin.
 There is no chance to miss any student result, it depends on
admin.
 It gives student original capability.

1. Administrator
2. Typist
3. Student
