Instructions
You are going to take a computer based online Test at a workstation.
You are required to be present in the Test Centre 60 minutes before the star ting time of the Test
as specified in the admit card.
You are allowed to carry only pen/pencil inside the test centre.
You are required to produce your admit card and ID proof (which bears your photograph and date
of bir th) at the registration desk without which the entry will not be allowed.
Candidates are required to carry a copy of proof to show that he/she are undergoing or
completed pre-sea training.
At the registration desk, your identity is verified, admit card scanned, photograph and finger
prints captured and assigned to a computer.
For working purpose a paper sheet will be provided at the workstation. All rough work will need
to be worked in this sheet of paper and no additional material will be given for rough work.
The administrator is authorized to dismiss you from the test session for any of the following
reasons:
Creating disturbance
Attempting to take the test on behalf of someone else.
Talking to other test taker/s.
Attempting to tamper with the computer system – either hardware or software.
If found with calculators, slide rules, pagers, cell phones, concealed microphones, wireless
devices or any other material that may aid in answering questions. Basic On Screen
calculator will be provided in the examination application.

Examination

The Computer Based Test you are going to take has 200 Questions in 5 Sections with a total
weightage of 200 marks and the total time allowed is 180 minutes.
Sections :
Section A- Knowledge ( 100 questions)
Section B- Numerical Reasoning and Data Interpretation ( 25 questions)
Section C- Mechanical reasoning ( 20 questions)
Section D- Spatial and diagrammatic reasoning ( 30 questions)
Section E- Verbal Comprehension & Verbal Ability ( 25 questions)
Each correct answer fetches 1 mark.
There is negative marking. 1/4 (0.25) of the mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Unanswered questions will not be negatively marked

INFORMATION ON THE TEST PROCESS

The questions will appear in English.


In each of these sections, every question is followed by 4 answer options. Choose the option that
is most appropriate. Indicate your answer by clicking on the circle adjacent to the option you
think is right.
You can go to any question directly by clicking on the question number, which will appear at the
bottom of the screen. The answered question number will be marked Green and the unanswered/
skipped question number will remain in blue.
If you are doubtful of the answer, you can mark a question for review which is indicated with an
arrow mark, below the question number. This can be unmarked, once you come back to the same
question at a later time.
If you want to change your answer to any question, you may select the question and change the
answer by clicking on the appropriate answer.
In case you finish your test before allotted time of 180 minutes, you will get a confirmation page
which will give you two options. Either to go back to the test or to complete the test.
In case you do not want to review the answers you may complete the test by clicking submit
button.
You will not be permitted to leave the examination hall within 30 minutes of star t of exam. On
completion of 30 minutes of your time, a "I have completed test" button will appear at bottom of
the screen to complete the test. You can use the button to submit the test and complete the test
at any point of time after 30 minutes from the star t of exam.
Ensure that you click on “submit” as a sign of completion. Please note that once you click on the
submit you cannot go back to the test.
Once the candidate completes the on-line test, he/she should be able to see the screen
indicating completion of test with a thank you note.
Please raise your hand once you complete the test and handover the used rough paper to the
proctor/administrator.
