FIRE SECTION

Functions, 1. Introduction of a Fire and Rescue Training school that will train personnel for Bulawayo City Council and other Councils.

3. The Mechanical Workshop in the Fire and Rescue Services Division should report directly to the Head of the Division and
functional relationship with the Workshop Manager. Minor mechanical faults can be done at the Fire Station and major
maintenance work transferred to the mechanical workshop..
4. Snake and bee removal should be moved to the Parks section under the Housing and Community Services
Department. Tree cutting should also be domiciled in the Parks Section.
5. There are solar geysers purchased in May 2015 to reduce the energy bill that have not yet been installed by the
Engineering Department. Departmental Internal Communication within Council should improve

2. Installation of a two-way communication radio system would greatly improve communication.
3. There should be a backup system for the control room. The Section should have a functional relationship with IT to enable
the backup system to operate effectively.
