Preliminary Scope:

It is known that the major categories of car accidents are divided into
distraction and drowsiness of drivers. Drowsy driving refers to when – Sklearn
a driver is half-sleeping because of mental and physical fatigue. – Xgboost
Currently, more than 30% of deaths caused by car accidents are
attributed to drowsy driving. For these reasons, many car – Pandas

manufacturers over the world are developing diverse systems that – Numpy
can prevent drowsy driving. To develop a successful driver drowsi-
ness monitoring system, it requires several important components: – Keras

first a reliable and accurate algorithm by which drowsiness of the – Tensorflow

driver can be detected; secondly a high-quality driving data set used
for training the algorithm; thirdly a high-performing embedded – OpenCV

computer.
For 1st Component, we will employ a high performing tracker with a
Haar-feature face detector in detecting the facial area within the
video.
For 2nd Component, A non-conventional image processing
technique such as deep neural network will be used for feature
extraction.
For the 3rd Component, Gradient boosting machine will be adopt
for the classification task using XGBoost. To improve overall
performance, semi-supervised learning techniques are utilized.
