Lesson AIMS:
- to review previous vocabulary
- to practice vocabulary related to different indoor and outdoor
activities
- to practice the uses of reported speech
- to develop students speaking and writing skills
Objectives:
- to predict the message based on a reading material
- to identify words and phrases
- to fill in exercises based on given vocabulary
-to use vocabulary in order to express themselves freely

FUNCTIONS:
- solve exercises
- bringing arguments;
- supporting arguments with examples;

Students interaction: pair work, group work and individual work.
TIME: 50 minutes

Activity 1 (3 minutes) –Warm up


The teacher greets the students and asks who is absent.
The teacher asks the students to read their homework
Activity 2 - 10 min Lead –in
Teacher’s activity:
The teacher writes on the board the title of the lesson and announces
the objectives.
She gives students an exercise in order to practice previous
information related to reported speech and reported verbs. Annex 1
Student’s activity:
They work in pairs, to finish the task and give their answers orally.

Activity 3 (10 min) Practice


Teacher’s activity:
She writes on the board the following words related to shopping :
Sales, bargain, reductions,
Receipt, prescription, refund, budget, till, checkout.
She asks students to write their meaning.
The teacher tells the students to solve ex 1/62 in order to practice
vocabulary given.
Student’s activity:
They give answers in their notebooks working together with their
desk mate.

Activity 4 (15 min) - Practice
Teacher’s activity
The teacher asks the students to work with their deskmate and find
similarities and difference between the photos given in their book (pg
63, 182- photos d,f . They may use the phrases given at ex 3/63
The teacher divides the class into two groups and tells them to work
in pairs or groups.
Student’s activity
They work in pairs and choose the suitable answers.
They give their answers on the board.

Activity 5 (5 min) - Practice


Teacher’s activity
The teacher asks students to listen another student talking about the
same photos. They must choose the phrases they use during their
conversation. –Ex 3/63
Student’s activity
They must pay attention and choose the best answer.

Activity 6 (5 min) - Practice


Teacher’s activity
The teacher asks students to express their preferences about places
where they like spending time.
They may also use photos from the page 183nin order to express
better

Homework and feedback – 2 min


They have to give answers to ex 7/67
