The Future of Fashion: 100 years from

now

Future is very unpredictable. I believe that in the future our

clothes will evolve a lot more than we can imagine. With the
advancements in technology, people will be able to buy plain
garments made from fabrics that have a special layer inside them.
They will be able to control the patterns, colors, prints,
thickness, and textures on their clothes through an app. Each
category will have unique patterns that will be differentiated
according to themes such as seasons, occasions, etc. Designers will
be developing digital prints and textures that could even move
around on the fabric. People will not just look forward to designers’
garments in 100 years, but also their unique patterns and 3D
textures that can be created on those fabrics.
Many people will try to revive the elements of traditional forms
of art through digital prints, inks used and fabrics created. People
will be able to access these features using apps for their devices.
One of them could be called, “YOURS”, where people can choose
from a library of different shades of colors to the archive of varying
kinds of patterns in the book. They will even be able to merge prints
based on the fabric that they are wearing or increase and decrease
the opacity of the fabrics.
I believe fashion 100 years form now will be a lot more
colorful. People will be able to experiment with their style in many
ways. They could even create art on their clothes with special pen
that can draw on such fabrics and move around on the garment. I
believe more people will be interested in developing their personal
style with this. They will be more conscious about the way they look.
People will consult stylists to help them their looks

Conclusion
The possibilities with such technology could be endless. People
will be able to use the app, YOURS, to choose and merge prints
based on the fabric that they are wearing. This could be a huge step
towards supporting sustainability. Instead of buying the same
garments in three different shades, people will be able to buy only
one garment and wear it in varying shades. This would drastically
decrease the scale at which clothes are produced and help improve
environmental conditions such as water pollution, air pollution,
usage of excess water etc. At the same time, this would also be a
stepping-stone into further innovation in fashion and technology. In
the future, this app would be accessible not only through watches
and phones, but also through bracelets, neckpieces, nail paints,
specs, etc.
People could get more creative with their outfits by drawing on
them with ‘Digital Finger Tip Pens’ that consist of only natural
ingredients. They could also share their designs on online forums.
Further, they could also be used to make tattoos without harming
your skin.
