ABOUT faIR – Post Grunge

“faIR – Post Grunge” is based on a superb collection of different MesaTM, MarshallTM & EnglTM cabinets
designed to resemble the sound of modern rock & metal bands. It contains all the goodies that our IR

FREDMAN TECHNIQUE
This pack comes with 3 IRs captured with the Fredman Technique through an analog mixer. It contains the
already mixed Fredman Impulses ready for mixing.

STEREO IRs
This pack contains 12 Stereo IR files, which are predestined to be loaded with our Plug-in faIRmageddon.
Most other „Cabinet IR Loaders“ won‘t be able to load them properly.

VARIATIONS
Each IR blend in the pack is available in 3 different variations: Tube, Solid (State) & S.P.A.R.C.

S.P.A.R.C.: The S.P.A.R.C. capturing method is a new technique developed here at forward audio. It
produces IRs, which bear an uncanny resemblance to a real recording setup, sounding much more
pleasant with an overall balanced frequency response. In most mixing situations this will be your go to
variation, which will outperform the others. It‘s especially pleasing with high gain sounds and it‘s effects
are better noticeable in the mix than soloed.

Tube: Captured with a modded Peavey Windsor tube amp, these variations provide a warm low end
response and subtle tube distortions. Perfect for the use with amp simulations to add organic tube
warmth.

Solid (State): Captured with a custom linear solid state amp to provide an uncolored representation of
the cabinet. Perfect for the use with a tube amp recorded through a load box.

INSTRUCTIONS
Our faIR packs are available in the most commonly used formats. In your account you can choose if you
want to download them separately or in all possible formats:

Wav & Aiff: The standard folder containing all impulses in 24 bit / 96 kHz wav / aiff files. For the most
applications this is your go to folder, providing you with everything you need in the best possible quality.

ScuffhamTM S-Gear: The Plug-in S-Gear (and some others) can‘t automatically transform IRs into different
sample rates, therefore this folder contains the most commonly used sample rates. You should only
download and use these if you use S-Gear or some other gear without real-time sample rate conversion.

KemperTM: This folder contains kipr-files ready to be used with the KemperTM Profiling Amplifier.
Please note that this folder doesn’t contain the Stereo IR files as they are not supported by this format.

Fractal: This folder contains syx-files (High Res) ready to be used with Fractal AudioTM products.
Please note that this folder doesn’t contain the Stereo IR files as they are not supported by this format.
