CMS-Function
Service Training

Provides the power supply for the Electronic hand and foot controls.

Initiates the release of the switching valves, which are in series with the respective proportional valves.

Disables the slew system and travel function when boarding ladder or service arm is in lowered position.

Generates the simulated signals for: load sensing, pressure switch load, pressure switch travel and sends them to PMS
Master/Slave.

Generates the signals for: slew park brake on, travel brake on and travel stage 2 on and sends them to their respective
solenoid valves and the BCS.

Identifies the engine running configuration for the pump logic

Working equipment function switching. changes the direction of the joystick signal to either float valves for “pressure less
lowering” or main control valves for “power down”.

Working equipment configuration switching. sets the configuration of the machine i.e shovel configuration (clam) or backhoe.

Switches the programmed nominal lines in the electronic joysticks depending on which machine it is fitted too i.e RH170 /
RH400.

Emergency operation switching. sets the ma signal available in the event of engine failure to lower the boom and retract the
stick.

Generates the signal for the travel alarm when travelling

All controls are hardware and software identical, the assignment of working motion is determined by which terminal the
control is connected to on the CMS.

BCS-Screen
Service Training

All CMS functions can now be read directly from the BCS screen. This information can be accessed by entering
the “Service” Menu, then “Service Terex” (1st Code required) then CMS Check.

Information which can be accessed from here include :

• Indications for Travel brake, slew brake & travel stage 2.

• Load Sensing pressure.
• Ladder.
• mA values for all joystick and foot pedal functions. (Both set and actual values)
• Indication of safety valve function.
