WHY CHOOSE ASEPTOL?
1. Contains chlorhexidine
Chlorhexidine is highly effective against many fungi, viruses, and
most bacteria. It is non-irritating, rarely sensitising, not inactivated by
organic matter such as blood, dirt and manure, and has persistent
action against most problematic organisms. Chlorhexidine has
a sustained residual effect due to binding with skin proteins.
Chlorhexidine causes disruption of microbial cell membranes
and precipitation of cell contents. Resistance is unlikely to develop
because of this non-specific mode of action.
2. Contains cetrimide
Cetrimide is an antiseptic agent with detergent properties that
help cleaning. It has a wide spectrum of activity against bacteria
and fungi. Cetrimide acts to prevent growth of bacteria and other
micro-organisms in wounds, assisting in control of infection.
3. An effective antiseptic and disinfectant
The combination of both chlorhexidine and cetrimide makes
Aseptol an effective germicide that can be used to assist in preventing
infection in livestock. Aseptol can be used around the farm or in the
shearing shed to disinfect equipment used for procedures such as
marking or dehorning, and to clean cuts and wounds.
4. A detergent that aids in cleaning
Aseptol is an effective detergent that will help in cleaning the
toughest of grime from a range of items including farm buildings,
shearing sheds and floor surfaces.
5. Nil withhold for meat, milk or eggs; Nil ESI
A nil withholding period for meat, milk and eggs and nil ESI
provides flexibility to use Aseptol whenever needed.

6. Convenient pack sizes
Aseptol comes in three convenient pack sizes: a 1L container to
be kept in a convenient location around the home or sheds, a 5L
pack for medium users and a 20L drum for larger use situations.
WHEN TO USE ASEPTOL
1. In the wool shed
Aseptol is ideal for disinfecting and cleaning the shearing shed
before, during and after shearing.
2. In the feedlot
The 20L packsize makes Aseptol perfect for use in the feedlot and
for large properties. Aseptol can be used for disinfecting implanting
needles, implanting guns, cleaning crushes, as a general floor cleaner,
and as an all purpose cleaner around sinks and benches.
3. In the dairy
Aseptol has a wide range of applications in the dairy including
use as a disinfectant for cleaning minor wounds or for obstetrical
procedures. It can also be used to clean and disinfect equipment
such as calf chains, feeding buckets and calf feeders as well as to
clean the milking shed floors.
4. In the stable
Aseptol is effective in cleaning and disinfecting stables, horse rugs
and tack (excluding delicate materials and leather).
5. In the veterinary practice
Aseptol can be used to clean and disinfect floors, kennels, feed
and water bowls as well as for general cleaning and disinfection
throughout the practice.
6. Farm and domestic buildings
Aseptol is a good all round general purpose cleaner for around
homes and farm buildings.
7. On animals for wound treatment
When diluted (25mL in 1L of clean water), Aseptol is a safe and
effective antiseptic and wound cleanser. It can be used in fresh or
old wounds at this dilution until healing is complete.

HOW TO USE ASEPTOL

Aseptol is a CONCENTRATED SOLUTION that MUST BE

DILUTED in water prior to use.
1. For buildings and equipment
Dilute 30mL of Aseptol in 4.5L of water for general cleaning and
disinfection.

2. For cuts and wounds

Dilute 25mL of Aseptol in one litre of clean water to clean and
disinfect cuts and wounds.

INDICATIONS
Aseptol can be used for cleaning shearing sheds, bails, milking
sheds fowl houses, piggeries and stables; cuts and wounds on
sheep, cattle, poultry, pigs and horses.

COMPOSITION
• Chlorhexidine 7.5g/L
• Cetrimide 7.5g/L

DIRECTIONS
Buildings: Dilute 30mL in 4.5L of water
Wounds: Dilute 25mL in 1L of water
