W e solemnly proclaim that God loves His chil-
dren in every nation of the world. God the
Father has given us the divine birth, the incomparable
life, and the infinite atoning sacrifice of His Beloved
Son, Jesus Christ. By the power of the Father, Jesus
rose again and gained the victory over death. He is our
Savior, our Exemplar, and our Redeemer.
Two hundred years ago, on a beautiful spring morning
in 1820, young Joseph Smith, seeking to know which
church to join, went into the woods to pray near his
home in upstate New York, USA. He had questions re-
garding the salvation of his soul and trusted that God
would direct him.
In humility, we declare that in answer to his prayer,
God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to
Joseph and inaugurated the “restitution of all things”
(Acts 3:21) as foretold in the Bible. In this vision, he
learned that following the death of the original Apostles,
Christ’s New Testament Church was lost from the earth.
Joseph would be instrumental in its return.
We affirm that under the direction of the Father and the
Son, heavenly messengers came to instruct Joseph and
re-establish the Church of Jesus Christ. #e resurrected
John the Baptist restored the authority to baptize by
immersion for the remission of sins. #ree of the orig-
inal twelve Apostles—Peter, James, and John—restored
the apostleship and keys of priesthood authority. Oth-
ers came as well, including Elijah, who restored the
authority to join families together forever in eternal
relationships that transcend death.
We further witness that Joseph Smith was given the
gift and power of God to translate an ancient record:
the Book of Mormon—Another Testament of Jesus
Christ. Pages of this sacred text include an account of
the personal ministry of Jesus Christ among people in

the Western Hemisphere soon after His Resurrection.
It teaches of life’s purpose and explains the doctrine of
Christ, which is central to that purpose. As a compan-
ion scripture to the Bible, the Book of Mormon testifies
that all human beings are sons and daughters of a lov-
ing Father in Heaven, that He has a divine plan for our
lives, and that His Son, Jesus Christ, speaks today as
well as in days of old.
We declare that #e Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-
day Saints, organized on April 6, 1830, is Christ’s New
Testament Church restored. #is Church is anchored
in the perfect life of its chief cornerstone, Jesus Christ,
and in His infinite Atonement and literal Resurrec-
tion. Jesus Christ has once again called Apostles and
has given them priesthood authority. He invites all of
us to come unto Him and His Church, to receive the
Holy Ghost, the ordinances of salvation, and to gain
enduring joy.
Two hundred years have now elapsed since this Resto-
ration was initiated by God the Father and His Beloved
Son, Jesus Christ. Millions throughout the world have
embraced a knowledge of these prophesied events.
We gladly declare that the promised Restoration goes
forward through continuing revelation. #e earth will
never again be the same, as God will “gather together in
one all things in Christ” (Ephesians 1:10).
With reverence and gratitude, we as His Apostles in-
vite all to know—as we do—that the heavens are open.
We affirm that God is making known His will for His
beloved sons and daughters. We testify that those who
prayerfully study the message of the Restoration and
act in faith will be blessed to gain their own witness of
its divinity and of its purpose to prepare the world for
the promised Second Coming of our Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ.

S olemnemente proclamamos que Dios ama a Sus

hijos en toda nación del mundo. Dios el Padre nos
ha dado el nacimiento divino, la vida incomparable
y el sacrificio expiatorio infinito de Su Amado Hijo,
Jesucristo. Por el poder del Padre, Jesús resucitó y
logró la victoria sobre la muerte. Él es nuestro Salvador,
nuestro Ejemplo y nuestro Redentor.
Hace doscientos años, en una bella mañana de prima-
vera de 1820, el joven José Smith, procurando saber a
qué iglesia debía unirse, fue a orar al bosque cerca de
su casa en el norte del estado de Nueva York, Estados
Unidos. Él tenía preguntas en cuanto a la salvación de
su alma y confiaba en que Dios lo guiaría.
Con humildad, declaramos que, en respuesta a su
oración, Dios el Padre y Su Hijo Jesucristo se apare-
cieron a José y dieron comienzo a la “restauración de

Biblia. En esa visión, José se enteró de que después

decisivo en su restitución.
Afirmamos que, bajo la dirección del Padre y del Hijo,
vinieron mensajeros celestiales para instruir a José y
restablecer la Iglesia de Jesucristo. Juan el Bautista,
como ser resucitado, restauró la autoridad para bau-
tizar por inmersión para la remisión de pecados. Tres
de los doce apóstoles originales —Pedro, Santiago y
Juan— restauraron el apostolado y las llaves de la auto-
ridad del sacerdocio. También vinieron otros, entre
ellos Elías el Profeta, quien restauró la autoridad para
unir a las familias por siempre en relaciones eternas
que trascienden la muerte.
También damos testimonio de que a José Smith se le
dio el don y el poder de Dios para traducir un registro
antiguo: El Libro de Mormón, Otro Testamento de
Jesucristo. En las páginas de este texto sagrado se halla
el relato del ministerio personal de Jesucristo entre la
gente del hemisferio occidental poco después de Su
resurrección. El libro enseña el propósito de la vida y
explica la doctrina de Cristo, que es fundamental en
ese propósito. Como libro canónico que acompaña a
la Biblia, el Libro de Mormón testifica que todos los
seres humanos son hijos e hijas de un amoroso Padre
Celestial, que Él tiene un plan divino para nuestra vida
y que Su Hijo, Jesucristo, nos habla en la actualidad,
así como lo hizo en los días antiguos.
Declaramos que La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos
de los Últimos Días, organizada el 6 de abril de 1830, es
la Iglesia restaurada de Cristo, de la época del Nuevo
Testamento. Esta Iglesia está fundada sobre la vida
perfecta de su principal piedra del ángulo, Jesucristo,
y sobre Su expiación infinita y resurrección literal. Jesu-
cristo ha llamado de nuevo a apóstoles y les ha dado la
autoridad del sacerdocio. Él nos invita a todos a venir
a Él y a Su Iglesia, para recibir el Espíritu Santo, las
ordenanzas de salvación y para obtener gozo duradero.
Han transcurrido doscientos años desde que Dios el
Padre y Su Hijo Amado, Jesucristo, dieron inicio a esta
Restauración. Millones de personas en todo el mundo
han aceptado el conocimiento de estos acontecimientos
que fueron predichos.
Con alegría declaramos que la Restauración prometida
avanza por medio de la revelación continua. La tierra
jamás volverá a ser la misma, dado que Dios “reunir[á]
todas las cosas en Cristo” (Efesios 1:10).
Con reverencia y gratitud, en calidad de Sus apóstoles
invitamos a todos a saber —como nosotros lo sabe-
mos— que los cielos están abiertos. Afirmamos que Dios

hijos e hijas. Testificamos que aquellos que estudien

W ir erklären feierlich, dass Gott seine Kinder in
jedem Land der Welt liebt. Gottvater hat uns die
göttliche Geburt, das unvergleichliche Leben und das
unbegrenzte Sühnopfer seines geliebten Sohnes, Jesus
Christus, geschenkt. Dank der Macht des Vaters ist Jesus
wiederauferstanden und hat den Sieg über den Tod errun-
gen. Er ist unser Erretter, unser Vorbild und unser Erlöser.
Vor zweihundert Jahren, an einem schönen Frühlings-
morgen im Jahr 1820, wollte der junge Joseph Smith wis-
sen, welcher Kirche er sich anschließen solle, und ging in
der Nähe seines Elternhauses im Bundesstaat New York
in einen Wald, um dort zu beten. Er hatte Fragen zur
Errettung seiner Seele und vertraute darauf, dass Gott
ihn leiten werde.
In aller Demut erklären wir, dass ihm als Antwort auf sein
Gebet Gottvater und sein Sohn, Jesus Christus, erschie-
nen sind und die in der Bibel vorhergesagte „Wiederher-
stellung von allem“ (Apostelgeschichte 3:21) eingeleitet
haben. In dieser Vision erfuhr er, dass nach dem Tod der
ursprünglichen Apostel die Kirche Christi aus der Zeit
des Neuen Testaments von der Erde verlorengegangen
war. Joseph sollte bei der Rückkehr dieser Kirche eine
wichtige Rolle spielen.
Wir bekräftigen, dass auf Weisung des Vaters und des
Sohnes himmlische Boten erschienen sind, die Joseph
unterwiesen und die Kirche Jesu Christi erneut aufgerich-
tet haben. Der auferstandene Johannes der Täufer stellte
die Vollmacht wieder her, durch Untertauchen zur Ver-
gebung der Sünden zu taufen. Drei der ursprünglichen
zwölf Apostel – Petrus, Jakobus und Johannes – stell-
ten das Apostelamt und die Schlüssel der Priestertums-
vollmacht wieder her. Auch andere Boten kamen, dar-
unter Elija, der die Vollmacht wiederherstellte, Familien
für immer zu vereinen, sodass ihre Verbindung über den
Tod hinaus besteht.
Wir bezeugen ferner, dass Joseph Smith von Gott die
Gabe und Macht erhalten hat, einen Bericht aus alter
Zeit zu übersetzen: das Buch Mormon – einen weiteren
Zeugen für Jesus Christus. Auf den Seiten dieses heiligen
Buches wird auch geschildert, wie Jesus Christus kurz

man etwas über den Sinn des Lebens, und darin wird auch
die Lehre von Christus dargelegt, die eng mit dem Sinn
des Lebens verbunden ist. Als mit der Bibel zusammen-
gehörige heilige Schrift bezeugt das Buch Mormon, dass
alle Menschen Söhne und Töchter eines liebevollen Vaters
im Himmel sind, dass Gott einen Plan für das Leben eines
jeden von uns hat und dass Gottes Sohn, Jesus Christus,
heute ebenso zu den Menschen spricht wie in alter Zeit.
Wir erklären, dass die Kirche Jesu Christi der Heiligen
der Letzten Tage, die am 6. April 1830 gegründet wurde,
die wiederhergestellte Kirche des Herrn aus der Zeit des
Neuen Testaments ist. Das Fundament dieser Kirche sind
das vollkommene Leben ihres Ecksteins, Jesus Christus,
sowie dessen unbegrenztes Sühnopfer und buchstäbliche
Auferstehung. Jesus Christus hat erneut Apostel berufen
und ihnen Priestertumsvollmacht übertragen. Er lädt uns
alle ein, zu ihm und in seine Kirche zu kommen, den Hei-
ligen Geist und die errettenden heiligen Handlungen zu
empfangen und immerwährende Freude zu erlangen.
Zweihundert Jahre sind nun schon vergangen, seit diese
Wiederherstellung von Gottvater und seinem geliebten
Sohn Jesus Christus eingeleitet wurde. Millionen Men-
schen in aller Welt haben das Wissen um diese prophe-
zeiten Ereignisse angenommen.
Wir erklären voller Freude, dass die verheißene Wieder-
herstellung durch fortdauernde Offenbarung voranschrei-
tet. Die Erde wird nie mehr so sein wie zuvor, denn Gott
wird „in Christus alles … vereinen“ (Epheser 1:10; Ein-
heitsübersetzung 1980).
Voller Ehrfurcht und Dankbarkeit laden wir als Apostel
des Herrn alle Menschen ein, das zu erkennen, was auch
wir wissen: Die Himmel sind offen. Wir bestätigen, dass
Gott seinen Willen für seine geliebten Söhne und Töchter
kundtut. Wir bezeugen, dass diejenigen, die sich gebet-
erfüllt mit der Botschaft von der Wiederherstellung befas-
sen und im Glauben handeln, mit einem Zeugnis davon
gesegnet werden, dass die Wiederherstellung von Gott
kommt und dem Zweck dient, die Welt auf das verheiße-
ne Zweite Kommen unseres Herrn und Erretters, Jesus
Christus, vorzubereiten.
