1. Scope /Objectives/ Purpose


The scope of this method statement covers the specified working method to carry out the
cementitious insulation work procedure and it gives details of how the work will be
carried out, inspected, delivered & protected.

The method statement also states the documentation required for this process, all the
material and tools required in addition to their testing and sampling and to make sure
that they conform with the required specifications and the risk assessment plan for
carrying out the work.

3. Responsibilities
 Construction Manager
The construction Manager is responsible for implementing this Method Statement and he
will plan for required Manpower, Tools, Materials, Equipment and Machinery and also the
later has to ensure its availability, suitability, efficiency and adequacy for all aspects
related to the specified work.
 Quality Control Engineer
QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring full compliance with Contract Documents,
Drawings, Specifications, also to assure that Method Statement is implemented, required
inspections shall be carried out as per relevant approved ITP for all activity Check Points,
and they are in fulfillment.

 Project Engineer / Site Engineer


The Site Engineer responsible for the section of the site under his control, and shall
implement all adequate Construction Techniques, and shall Organize, Operate and
Execute Works, in accordance with approved method statement.

 Site Foreman

The site foreman should ensure that construction is carried out properly and according to
instructions received from the Site Engineer. He must provide and operate his
Subordinates (Assistant Forman, Charge Hand and Gangers) adequate information to
carry out their duties and to be aware that he has adequate knowledge for the activities
and the underground services near to the working place.
He should ensure that he has adequate resources of machinery, labour and materials to
carry out all the activities efficiently and to discuss with the Site Engineer & promptly
inform the Site Engineer of the prepared areas for inspection and handing over through
Daily Reports and Site Liaison.

4. Procedure/Method:

A. Surface preparation:

 Surfaces shall be smooth and any foreign materials immediately shall be removed before
any steps of started. The finished surface shall not include any roughness or sharp
materials that might occur any damage of waterproof membrane.
 All surfaces must be sound, clean and free from dust, oil, grease and loose particles
also using electrical blower might help making the surface free of dust
 Any voids or crakes founded will treated using approved repair materials before starting
work.
 All needed Cant Strips & Chamfers, will be fabricated from Cement / Sand Mortar, to
maintain smooth round edges, between Horizontal & Vertical edges intersections.

B. Application:
 Prior apply cementitious water proofing commencement, all need approved
material must be available at site, all surfaces to receive coating should be
inspected by contractor QA/QC engineer.
 Apply 1st coat of approved cementitious material (sika top seal 107) with mixing
ratio of component A&B as per data sheet and manufacture instruction.
 Apply 2nd coat of approved cementitious material (sika top seal 107) with mixing
ratio of component A&B as per data sheet and manufacture instruction.

5. Manpower Requirement
 Supervisor / Forman.
 Engineer.
 Plaster Masons.
 Labor.

6. Material Requirement
 Sand
 Clean Potable Water
 Cement
 Approved cementitious material (sika top seal 107)
 Approved repair material
7. Equipment Requirement
 Air compressor.
 Paint brush.
 Straight Edges, Trowels and all other required hand tools.
8. Health & Safety Provisions
 The work shall be carried out as per the Project’s HSE Plan.
 Provide and maintain a safe access for working personnel at all times.
 Assure that all working personnel are aware of the safety instructions and are
following them.
 Check the clearance of the working place from any other activities.
 Always maintain housekeeping activities during and after work on site.
9. Distribution
