(‘VRI’) for the operation of The Lodge, the County's Northwest Domestic Violence Center, the County has decided not to renew the Agreement. As such, the County is instructing VRI to vacate the property and cease operation of The Lodge on May 8, 2020 (the “Termination Date’) or earlier if VRI is amenable Miami-Dade County, through the Community Action and Human Services Department, which operates Miami-Dade's only other certified domestic violence center, will assume operation of The Lodge on May 9, 2020 or earlier if VRI is amenable. During this transition period, we ask that VRI work cooperatively with County staff who will be reaching out to you in the coming days. Beyond the $1.9 million in local funding budgeted for operations of The Lodge, we hope to work cooperatively with VRI to keep intact any grants, donations and in-kind services developed. Of course, our foremost STEPHEN P. CLARK © 111 N.W. FIRST STREET + 29TH FLOOR * MIAMI, FLORIDA 33128-1930 + (905) 375-5071 concern during this transition period is the safety and confidentiality of the domestic violence survivors and their dependents who reside at The Lodge. We want to ensure housing and service delivery continues uninterrupted and without re-traumatization of this vulnerable population. As you are aware, an audit of VRI is underway, and as such, further documentation from VRI may be requested during this time as we review VRI's fiscal, administrative and programmatic compliance with the terms and conditions of the Agreement. We ask that VRI continue to provide full access to all of its records which relate to the Agreement and continue to provide assistance to facilitate the audit. If the County determines that \VRI has been paid funds not in accordance with the Agreement, and to which VRI is not, entitled, VRI shall return such funds to the County, or the County may reduce the amount of such funds from any payments to which VRI is entitled, or VRI may submit appropriate documentation within seven (7) days’ notice from the County demonstrating that the funds at issue were paid in compliance with the Agreement Thank you, in advance, for your attention to this matter and helping to ensure a seamless transition.
